    Ive had one other experience with mint-infused mojitos since starting this blog, and while it was non-traditional in every sense of the word, those granitas ended up being one of my favorite summer recipes.

    Theres just something about adding berries, though, that makes this drink not only crisp and delicious, but super festive as well!

    How To Make A Pitcher Of Mojitos

    Juice your limes. I typically do this over a liquid measuring cup with a fine mesh strainer on top of it to keep pulp and seeds out of the final juice.

    Pro tip: Youll get more juice from your limes if theyre room temperature. If you keep em in the fridge, pop them into the microwave for 20-30 seconds to get those juices flowing!

    Next, get all your mint leaves ready. You need a lot and it is a hassle but skimping on the mint is going to mean for a less flavorful mojito, which is unacceptable. Make sure to rinse the mint leaves off, as well pat them dry with a kitchen towel.

    Add the mint leaves to the bottom of a pitcher. Bruise the mint leaves using a muddler or a wooden spoon so they can release their natural oils.

    Pour the white rum, lime juice and simple syrup into the pitcher. Stir until combined.

    Top the pitcher off with the club soda, and serve immediately, pouring the pitcher mojitos over ice in individual glasses and garnishing with lime wedges and extra mint sprigs.

    Instructions. Reserve 6 whole strawberries for garnish. Hull and then slice the remaining strawberries and place in a pitcher. Add the lime juice and sugar and muddle until the sugar dissolves.     These bad boys are my drink of choice on vacation and in the summer because of how light they are. All you need to make these are 5 simple ingredients: limes, mint, rum, club soda and coconut sugar.

    Normally I make my mojitos one at a time in a cocktail shaker, but todays recipe is by the pitcher. Because, well its Cinco de Mayo, so why not!

    After all, as a party host you need to make sure those drinks stay filled and people stay happy. This Classic Mojito Recipe is sure to fill all those needs. I guarantee it will be the hit of the party.

    Do You Shake A Mojito

    I do understand this question. As a general rule, citrusy drinks should be shaken. However, a classic mojito is just stirred. A cocktail with club soda shouldn’t be shaken, although you could shake the drink before adding the club soda. But stirring is just even easier right – no need to clean a shaker!

    Sugar Or Simple Syrup

    Both sugar and simple syrup are here to add sweetness to our mojito, but when it comes to muddled cocktails I prefer using sugar. The sugar granules dissolve quickly and easily in the lime juice, especially if your limes are already at room temperature. Basically, it saves you an unnecessary step.

    If you really want to use simple syrup, I highly recommend you use a mint simple syrup instead of a basic simple syrup, which I cover in my Mint Julep Bar post.

    How To Make Refreshing Pitcher Mojitos

    Place limes, mint and sugar into a pitcher. Using a muddle stick or wooden spoon mash to release mint oils, and dissolve sugar. Add rum and lots of ice topped with soda.

    Combine water and sugar in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Allow to cool to room temperature before using. When simple syrup is cooled, add ½ cup of it to a large pitcher with lime wedges and mint. Muddle them in the bottom of the pitcher with a muddler or the back of a wooden spoon, releasing the oils and flavors.

    6 ounces fresh lime juice. 6 ounces simple syrup. 12 ounces white rum. Muddle the mint, then mix the above ingredients together in the pitcher. Store in the fridge until youre ready to use. When youre ready to serve, fill glasses with ice, fill with the mojito mixture, then top each glass with club soda.

    Cool to room temperature. Mash the blueberries in a bowl. Then strain them through a mesh strainer into a second bowl. Press down on the berries to get all the juice out. Add the mint leaves to a large pitcher. Gently muddle the mint by pressing with a muddler or the end of a wooden spoon and giving a twist or two.

    Rub the glass with fresh mint. Fill the glass 2/3 with crushed ice, pour over the rum and stir until the sugar dissolves. Once dissolved, add in club soda or any sparkling water.**. Garnish with lime wedges and more fresh mint. To make a pitcher: Use the same method, but in a large pitcher.

    Because a simple syrup is 1 part sugar and 1 part water, you should use the double amount of simple syrup than regular caster sugar. To make a simple syrup, add equal parts sugar and water to a saucepan. On medium heat, stir until the sugar has dissolved. Set aside to cool completely and store covered in the fridge. It’s perfect when you want a quick drink such as a whiskey sour.

    Speaking of soda wateris it club soda? Is it seltzer? In this mojito pitcher recipe, we use the term soda water to mean any type of unflavored sparkling water! Here are some of the differences between club soda vs seltzer:

    • Soda water aka seltzer is carbonated water with no additives straight up bubbles!
    • Club soda is carbonated water infused with added minerals, which give it a salty, lightly sweet flavor. Its great in cocktails, like these top club soda cocktails.

    In contrast, tonic water is carbonated water with added quinine and sugar. Dont use it in a Mojito because of the distinct flavor. But you can use it for a Gin and Tonic, Vodka Tonic, Tequila Tonic or Whiskey Tonic!

    How To Make A Pitcher Of Blueberry Mojitos

    Remove the mint leaves from the stems. Then, cut each limes into 8 wedges.

    Place the mint leaves and lime wedges in a large pitcher. Use a muddler to smash the lime wedges until they release their juice. The smashing will also release the flavor of the mint.

    If you dont have a muddler, use the back of a wooden spoon or a meat mallet. I thought using a meat mallet was the fastest method since it has more surface area than a wooden spoon handle.

    Pour in the blueberries and smash those, too. You dont have to smash every single blueberrysome can be left whole.

    Pour in the cooled simple syrup and rum. If youre making these ahead, stop here and refrigerate the mixture for up to 4 hours.

    If youre serving them right away, pour in the club soda.

    What an easy, straightforward recipe. I served this at a birthday party last night and everyone RAVED about it as the best mojitos they ever drank. I’ve never had a mojito so I was at a loss to know what they should taste like but I had LOTS of mint in the garden so thought why not? I used less lime juice in the third pitcher but no one seemed to notice. I think the key was the fresh mint . I made up two pitchers ahead of time, put them in the fridge, and added the club soda and ice when guests arrived.

    A classic mojito is the perfect summer cocktail. It’s super refreshing with tons of lime, mint and a little sugar to bring out the flavors. If I could only drink one cocktail for the rest of my life – a classic mojito is at the top of my list! This recipe is easy to follow and I even included a pitcher recipe – because we all know one drink isn’t enough.

    Luckily, we can switch things up and drink mojitos one day and other cocktails on other days. I love this , blood orange margarita, cucumber pomegranate vodka lemonade, a rhubarb Moscow mule for early summer and of course the whiskey based Penicillin cocktail.

    However, you could also make a mojito into a boozy popsicle, and in that post you will find 5 other boozy popsicles recipes as well. It is quite easy to get your favorite cocktails to freeze nicely, with just a few simple tricks.

    As much as we would like, drinking only alcoholic drinks during the summer isn’t going to cut it. For a hydrating and refreshing non-alcoholic drink I recommend hibiscus tea, ginger lemon iced tea and homemade berry cordial.

    Mojitos By The Pitcher

    This is a great way to make mojitos for a group instead of making them individually. Recipe is easy to double. Look for simple syrup with the drink mixers at the store if you don’t want to make it from scratch.

    3/4 cup loosely packed mint leaves ice1 cup freshly squeezed lime juice2/3 cup simple syrup3 cups club soda

    How To Make A Raspberry Mojito Pitcher Cocktail

    If you are serving a crowd, want to take it along on a picnic, or just want enough for the whole table, try making your mojito as a pitcher cocktail. These instructions can be adapted to however many you need to make, but my recommendation for a 32 ounce pitcher is to multiply the ingredients by five.

    • In your cocktail shaker muddle the lime juice, sugar, and mint leaves, then add to the pitcher.
    • In the now empty cocktail shaker, muddle your raspberries to break them up, then add to the pitcher. If using frozen berries, allow them to thaw first.
    • Use the rum to rinse the cocktail shaker and add it to the pitcher.
    • Add the club soda and ice cubes to the pitcher, then stir to combine completely.
    • Fill each glass with a few extra ice cubes, then top off with raspberry mojito mixture.
    • If desired, serve with extra fresh berries, lime rounds, or mint sprigs for garnish. I like to add extra sliced lime rounds into the pitcher because I think it looks pretty.
