How To Make Pineapple Rum Punch:

For a single serving: fill a glass with ice and add pineapple juice and ginger ale. Slowly top with black spiced rum and garnish with a maraschino cherry and a straw. Serve it with the black floating on top or give it a stir.

For a large batch: Add pineapple juice, ginger ale and black rum to a pitcher. Stir well and chill until ready to serve. Serve over ice and garnish with maraschino cherries.

Variations Of This Cocktail

Debbie is really loving this coconut tequila in her cocktails lately and that would work here as well!

You could also possibly exchange the coconut rum for pineapple rum. You also could use pineapple or coconut vodka in a pinch.

Feel free to exchange the white rum for dark rum too. I happen to love dark rum over white because it has so much more flavor, however it will make the cocktails a slightly different color.

And as mentioned above, try sparkling coconut water for a little more bubble in your cocktail!

Yield: Batch cocktail.

Instructions:Combine all ingredients, shake with ice, strain over ice in a tall tiki glass.

Garnish: Use simple syrup to create a cinnamon sugar rim and garnish with a pineapple wedge.

Tip: Use fresh pressed/squeezed juices, if possible, for freshest flavor. Combine the rum, juices, simple syrup and bitters in a pitcher without ice. Let chill a few hours before serving to blend the flavors.

This rum cocktail is so easy to make. Start by filling a cocktail shaker with ice. Then pour the juice, rums, and triple sec into the shaker. I did a 3 part juice to 2 part rum to 1 part triple sec ratio for this cocktail. Your measurements can increase or decrease depending on how much of the cocktail you want to make.

Shake the cocktail for roughly 20 seconds until the outside of the shaker begins to get condensation almost crystallization. Then pour it into a tall glass filled with ice. Leave room in the cocktail if you want to add some sparkling water or soda to the cocktail to make it a sparkling cocktail.

I used pineapple flavored sparkling water for this cocktail. Ginger ale, lemon-lime soda, or just soda water will also work for this Hawaiian Rum Cocktail if you are wanting to make it sparkling.

Water You Drinking This Summer

Its no shock that we love Malibu as much as we do. The coconut Caribbean rum is popular by name alone. Its always been one of my favorite drinks for cocktails and mixed drinks during the summer. Then again, I do have a bit of a bias for coconut-flavored anything . Malibu loves to incorporate other fruity flavors into their coconut rum as well, and have even released their own line of sparkling cocktails.

A bottle of Watermelon Malibu is 750 mL and has 21% ABV. Its already available on totalwine.com and may already be stocked on store shelves near you. You can grab a bottle for just $13.99. What a steal!

The most important thing is, of course, what to mix it with.

What Rum To Use

This cocktail uses white rum, which is typically what youll use in a rum cocktail. However, you can mix things up and use a dark rum or a coconut rum instead, if you want.

Do You Mix Rum With Anything

So lets talk about what mixes well with rum 1) Tonic water: You can add tonic water to well-aged rum to create a refreshing drink. You can use 1 part rum with 4 parts tonic water and a slice of lemon. 2) Lime juice and a slice of lemon: You can add lime juice, mint, and sugar to rum to spice things up a bit.

These cocktails are made by blending fresh pineapple , with ice and rum, plus a splash of vanilla extract, in a blender. It takes about 2 minutes to blend it all up.

I recommend the Ninja countertop blender. Its a 1000-watt blender that can destroy ice with its 6 blades. Its a professional grade blender for just around $80. Such a good investment, especially if you make a lot of frozen cocktails and smoothies.

I prefer to use ice cubes because I never plan far enough in advance, but if you wanted to make this drink even more flavorful, you can freeze the pineapple and then omit the ice. You just have to double the amount of pineapple you use, if you want the same tall glass full.

To serve this cocktail, you can use a high ball or low ball glass. This recipe makes enough for 2 low ball glasses .

Create A Simple Syrup

Learning to make a simple syrup is an incredibly easy way to create the base for countless mixed drinks . In fact, with a simple syrup and the versatile rum, Bacardi, you can create a variety of fun summer drinks!

To create the simple syrup, you combine equal parts water and sugar in a small saucepan, bring to a boil, and stir to mix.

For this recipe, I used 2 cups of water and 2 cups of sugar.

Theres A Darker Side To Malibu

For those of us looking for slightly higher SPF, er ABV, with our Caribbean sunshine, the good folks at Malibu went ahead and created Malibu Black, a 35-percent-ABV rum-based liqueur . Its a mix of dark rum and coconut-flavored, rum-based liqueur, proportioned such that the sugar content that caws like a shore bird in Malibu original is hushed here, with most of the flavor coming in as dark, chewy, and hot, like a melted Tootsie Roll that will get you buzzed.

Tools To Make A Pina Colada

There really arent a lot of tool necessary. One thing you absolutely need is a good blender with the ability to really chop the ice. This will lead to the smoothest frozen pina colada.

I recommend the Ninja countertop blender. Its a 1000-watt blender that can destroy ice with its 6 blades. Its a professional grade blender for just around $80. Such a good investment, especially if you make a lot of frozen cocktails and smoothies.

I also think you need hurricane glasses to serve your Pina Coladas in. This will elevate the cocktail experience to a truly authentic level. I can imagine it now. Feels like summer. If youre not using a hurricane glass, use a tall glass thats at least 12 oz .

Thats all you need to make the perfect Pina Colada. Just blend up all the ingredients, poor it into your hurricane glass, top it with a tropical umbrella and youre good to go.

Easy Cocktails With Plantation Pineapple Rum

In this video, I have 5 easy Cocktails that you can make with Plantation Pineapple Rum . These recipes are perfect if you’re at home, or even if you want to rock them out at a Pub or Bar.

The Plantation Rum Brand does make some Epic Rums. And this Pineapple rum is no exception. But don’t think of this as a Pineapple flavoured Rum, which may sound a bit nuts, but it is nothing like your Pineapple Dead Mans Fingers Rum or, Captain Morgan Pineapple. There are no flavours added here, it’s just a subtle infused Rum with Real Pineapples. The Pineapple flavour IS there, but it’s not upfront and in your face.

The cocktails I wanted to show you give a really good overlook of this Rum. First up is the Daiquiri. My recipe is a very slight tweak on the Plantation Daiquiri and although there’s no official “this is how we serve our Daiquiri”, many Bartenders have adopted the split citrus of Lime and Grapefruit. My little twist is just the Pineapple & Star Anise Bitters.

Then I’ve got 3 Cocktails where I need the names, please. Including a flavour that I’m really loving at the moment, a Bitter-Sweet thing going on with Pampelle Apero, which is essentially a fruitier, less bitter, grapefruit version of Aperol. This cocktail is divine. Some of you may want a touch of Sugar though.

Make A Tasty Cocktail In An Instant With Malibu Rum And Pineapple Juice ...

You should store Malibu rum the same way you store spirits like vodka. That means its perfectly fine sitting in a cabinet at room temperature.

The only thing to remember is that the cap should be closed at all times. After opening the bottle, make sure you close it tightly before putting it back into the cabinet. And dont even think about storing it with a pourer on, thats a big no-no.

When the bottle is not closed tightly, the liquid inside slowly evaporates. Whats even more important is that alcohol evaporates faster than water and that means the liquid would start to lose its kick.

In case you were wondering, Malibu rum does not require refrigeration after opening. You can store it in the fridge to keep it chilled, but its by no means necessary. You, in most cases, should refrigerate after opening liqueurs that contain eggs or dairy, but Malibu doesnt include either.

    How To Freeze Pineapple

For this recipe, I bought a 16 ounce bag of Dole Pineapple Chunks in the freezer aisle, which makes exactly two drinks. If you cant find frozen pineapple, you can prep your own the day before.

Slice your pineapple into chunks and spread onto a parchment/wax paper lined cookie sheet. Freeze for a few hours or overnight, then store them in a freezer bag until ready to use.
