These are the things I have on hand in my kitchen to make the most delicious and beautiful cocktails:
Paper straws they are so colorful and easy to compost or biodegrade- these are my current favorite with flamingos, pineapple and palm tree designs on them.

About Rum Punch A Little History
So I really love to dance Zumba and SocaFit, and many of my classmates and teachers are from the Caribbean islands.
Every party we have, someone brings their version of rum punch. And there are thousands of versions. When I decided to make my own version, I wanted to know more about the history of rum punch.
Basically, when the English were sailing around the world being jerks as part of the British East India Company, they drank a lot of beer on the ships.
Like 11 pints a day per person. And, they were on the ships for a long time.

Towards the end of their trips, the beer was rancid and flat. On the return home, they needed a new alcoholic beverage to drink- so they used what they found at their destination.

How Is Bacardi Black Made
Bacardi Carta Negra is produced in the Bahamas and Puerto Rico. The latter is the largest of the distilleries operated by Bacardi anywhere in the world. This rum is made according to the original recipe from 1862 and is an integral part of the large Bacardi family.
The starting product is the sugar cane molasses from various countries of origin. This is fermented with the addition of water with the yeast once called La Levadura Bacardi by founder Don Facundo Bacardi.
This is followed by a parallel distillation process in which heavy and light distillates are obtained. The so-called Aguardiente with an alcohol content of 60 to 70 percent and Redestilado with an alcohol content of over 90 percent are then sent separately to burned-out ex-bourbon casks from American white oak, including used casks from Jack Daniels.
Following the aging, which according to various unofficial sources lasts up to four years, the master blenders mix the different distillates and filter through charcoal, for which a variety of different tropical woods is used. Dye is added for bottling and the alcohol content is brought to 40 percent.

Clearly, the distinguishing factors between Bacardi white, Bacardi dark rum, and Bacardi Gold are 1) how long they are aged, 2) what they are aged in, and 3) whether or not they are filtered again after aging.
Bacardi white rum is aged less than Bacardi gold rum, which in turn is aged less than Bacardi dark rum.
Since age is usually an indication of the sophistication of an alcohol, we can also conclude that Bacardi Black is finer than Bacardi Gold, which in turn is finer than Bacardi white.
Looking at my own experience with rum, I now understand why I prefer Myerss Rum to Captain Morgans Spice Gold to white Bacardi rum.

Can You Make This Cocktail Ahead Of Time
I wouldnt recommend doing so. Because this is a frozen cocktail the ice will melt and the drink will lose its creamy texture.
As well, this drink will separate over time with the coconut milk rising to the top. If this happens before you are finished your cocktail simply use a cocktail mixer or straw to remix in the glass. This does take quite some time to happen but just in case.
