What Goes Good With Peanut Butter Whiskey

Skrewball Peanut Butter & Jelly Whiskey Cocktail

How to make Peanut Butter Bourbon

May 4, 2021

Make a Skrewball peanut butter & jelly whiskey cocktail for a fun spring or summer drink.

Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey and grape soda goes together likewell, peanut butter & jelly! If you havent tried Skrewball peanut butter whiskey yet, it may surprise you.

I will admit to being a little unsure about it at first too, but after one smooth sip, I was hooked. While its great on the rocks, I prefer cocktails to straight up whiskey.

My first recipe with it was a peanut butter whiskey chocolate martini. If you like Reeses, you will love this drink! Next up was a peanut butter whiskey milkshake.

If you love a good milkshake on a hot summers day, give this decadent drink a try. It is not overwhelming at all, but you definitely get that kick of whiskey.

For our signature cocktail for the holidays this year I made a peanut butter whiskey spiked eggnog.

Now, lets get to this easy recipe so you can give it a try!

Sheep Dog Peanut Butter Whiskey

Sheep Dog Peanut Butter Whiskey is produced in Kentucky and takes pride in its highly natural flavors. It has a light caramel color with vanilla and caramel joining the natural peanut butter on the palate, with subtle whiskey undertones. Leave it in the glass long enough and youll notice some butterscotch coming out.

The drink has a unique, complex, and lingering finish. Youll notice a warm, somewhat dry bite that devolves into a combination of vanilla, caramel, coffee, oak, butterscotch, and whiskey flavors to accompany the ever-present peanut butter.

Because its a bit drier with a stronger whiskey identity, its great for mixing. Youll notice the peanut butter flavor but there are plenty of flavors present in the background to offer balance and complexity. The drier nature does well to balance out a nice chocolate martini, for example.

Spiked Peanut Butter Cider

This is one of many suggestions that come from Skrewball themselves, and its a popular one. Its a nice warm drink, perfect for a rainy night in or a cold winter evening. Its simple all you must do is add one and a half ounces of your chosen peanut butter whiskey to four ounces of hot apple cider.

For some extra warmth garnish with a cinnamon stick.

You can scale the recipe to create as many servings as you need. Its a tasty, simple drink to share at any kind of gathering, especially in the colder weather.

Drunken Peanut Butter Rum Punch

The Drunken peanut butter rum punch is a variation on the more traditional Whiskey Ginger that’s been given this name because of its unique and highly flavorful combination of ingredients. It contains both yellow or light brown sugar as well as dark corn syrup–these two sweeteners are mixed together with Guinness beer, ginger ale , and American whiskey to make it taste delicious!

Instructions

Mix ½ cup each brown sugar, white sugar, corn syrup in a bowl until they’re evenly distributed pour in ¾ cup chilled Guinness beer and cups chilled ginger ale/seltzer water add one tablespoon vanilla extract then mix everything together again. You’ll also want to use about three tablespoons of bourbon whiskey and one tablespoon of dark rum.

Pour the mixture into a large bowl, then add ice cubes until it’s about ¾ full top off with more beer–either Guinness or any other type you prefer . You can garnish this drink by pouring some whipped cream on top and adding in two tablespoons of chocolate syrup to give it an extra dose of sweetness if desired. However, these aren’t necessary since there are plenty of natural sweeteners already included so go ahead and enjoy!

Peanut Butter Whiskey Is The Most Polarizing Pairing Yet Or Is It

There are plenty of questionable pairings when it comes to peanut butter, but none have ever been quite this intriguing.

Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey is exactly what it sounds like: a PB-flavored libation, and not, unfortunately, something you can smush between two pieces of bread with some jelly on top.

According to an email from the brand, the polarizing peanut-y beverage is made in a lab to perfect the almost impossible peanut butter flavor, which is made from real, natural peanuts. After launching the whiskey in San Diego in 2018, the beverage makers teamed up with a spirits company to expand distribution nationwide.

Its great news for peanut butter lovers and terrible news for whiskey purists. But, before we judge a book by its nutty-sounding cover, whiskey and peanut butter enthusiasts alike at HuffPost thought it only proper to taste it for ourselves.

Some were surprised to find out they actually gasp liked it, some had trouble finding a peanut butter flavor at all, and more than one person pointed out that if nothing else, it would make for a pretty stellar ice cream pairing. The best assessment of all, though, was inspired by the smell alone.

The scent is both attractive and repulsive at the same time, one colleague said. Isnt that what a smell should be?

Take a look at HuffPosters reviews below, and head to Skrewball to find out where you can purchase the whiskey if youre feeling nutty enough to try it yourself.

Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey Review And Recipes

Youd be hard-pressed to find anyone who doesnt love peanut butter and whiskey separately, of course. Theyre delectable, life-affirming treats that taste best first thing in the morning with breakfast. But, peanut butter whiskey seems like the answer to a question no one was asking. Regardless, Skrewballs Peanut Butter Whiskey has answered that question.

The self-described worlds first peanut butter whiskey is purportedly the first and only such whiskey on the market. Skrewball is taking a bold stance that their liquid novelty is not only good as a flavoring agent, but that it stands confidently on its own: as a shot, on the rocks, or neat. Its a tall promise. Intense flavoring works in vodkas and rums. However, flavored whiskey just as with, say, flavored tequila is a whole other animal.

After a neat sampling, our first impressions were mixed. The nose is earthy and slightly dusty, reminiscent of natural peanut butter. The taste is another matter entirely. The whiskey takes a backseat to the peanut butter notes, which are strong, rich, and sweet, almost cloying. This is a love-it-or-hate-it liquor.

For serious peanut butter fans who like their cocktails on the syrupy, dessert-like side, it seems a perfect fit. Skrewball gets this, which is why their lineup of recipes includes peanut-butter-forward cocktails like the Skrew Putin .

SQQRL Peanut Butter Whiskey is made by prominent whiskey producer Jim Beam so you can have confidence in its quality despite its slightly unconventional nature. This is a good option for those who are skeptical of this novel new category of whiskey but still want to try it.

Its a beautiful amber color with light golden hues with a strong aroma of freshly roasted peanuts. This is balanced nicely with sweet notes of butterscotch and chocolate.

The palate is similar, opening with strong, smooth peanut butter and a touch of chocolate. The finish is long with more roasted peanuts and sweet, lingering butterscotch.

Bird Dog Peanut Butter Whiskey

Bird Dog Peanut Butter Whiskey is a surprisingly affordable bottle for the strength and quality youre getting. It offers a solid, varied flavor profile without veering too far away from peanut butter. Many say it rivals the original Skrewball quite well.

The nose offers warm peanuts with a hint of wood and char. The palate brings aromatic notes of vanilla and sweet caramel in the background of smooth peanut butter flavors. The finish is slow and warm with more peanuts and a hint of sweet caramel at the very end.

The flavor is smooth and bold enough to sip neat while also pairing quite well in many fun cocktails. Its bottled at 80 proof which is a little more than most others of its kind. The additional alcohol balances the sweetness just a little without making it too harsh by any means.

It Tastes Like Caramel Popcorn Melted Down Into A Drink

I know this is supposed to be peanut butter. However, it tastes like caramel popcorn melted down into a drink in the best possible way. I loathe whiskey, so I was scared, but it makes it palatable.

Drinking this makes me feel like Im in Harry Potter. Partially because its buttery, sweet and delicious, like how butterbeer would taste. Probably more so because I keep taking sips of it and its making me buzzed to the point where Im about to convince myself Im an actual wizard.

My Whole Tongue Feels Like Its Being Coated With Butter

It smells amazing, first of all. A lot like peanut butter. But it tastes more like caramel corn to me than peanut butter. My whole tongue feels like its being coated with butter, and its super sweet. And honestly, Im not mad about either of those things.

I dont know if I would drink this regularly, but every once in a while when I have both a whiskey and a sugar craving, this could do the trick.
