Is Vodka More Harmful Than Beer
This all comes down to how much a person drinks, how often they drink, and whether they mix their drinks. Vodka has a stronger ABV than beer, but beer is often drunk faster and in larger amounts.
Technically speaking, neither is non-harmful. A person who gets drunk off vodka and breaks their arm during a fight is in the same position as someone who has broken their arm from drinking beer.;
Fuenteseca Don Fulano Fuerte
Liquor.com / Laura Sant
Enrique Fonseca didnt get into distilling until the 1980s when, as a farmer, he had a glut of agave on his hands. Rather than sell it off at fire-sale prices, Fonseca bought a distillery and turned his harvest into tequila. Decades later, were now the beneficiaries of that difficult time, as the resulting Fuenteseca tequilas are some of the longest-aged tequilas you’ll find anywhere. Some of the expressions, which are bottled between 84- and 90-proof, have been sitting in casks for more than 20 years.
Fonsecas releases are blends of column- and copper alembicdistilled tequilas aged in a range of barrels, including American white oak that formerly housed California red wine, dark French oak, and Canadian white oak used to age rye whiskey. The seven-year-old expression has an aroma of dark chocolate and port that turns spicy and dry across the palate. The 15-year is nuttier, with more vanilla and wood notes and a touch more alcohol. After spending 21 years in wood, the oldest of the bunch could be overwhelmed by oak, but instead, it complements the still-shining agave with a dry, hearty finish.
If youre not ready to drop a couple Benjamins on a bottle, Fonseca also makes the 100-proof Don Fulano Fuerte with his nephews at the same distillery, La Tequileña. This blanco features intense agave notes upfront, and zips and zings its way across the tastebuds to a minty finish with a spicy bite.

What Is The Highest Proof Tequila
Although tequila may have a rather rough-edged image as the favored tipple of border-town renegades and spring breakers, its production is a highly regulated, conservative affair. Some of its exclusive blends command the prices and respect accorded to fine Scottish single malt whiskies. Authentic tequila is produced only in certain regions of Mexico, and it’s labeled as such; alternative varieties can be bottled elsewhere. Tequila’s alcohol content is a fairly modest 110 proof.

Another example of a strong vodka is Balkan 176 Vodka, which is 88% ABV. This is triple-distilled, produced in Serbia, and comes with 13 different warning labels due to how strong it is.
Another really strong vodka is Devils Springs 160 Proof, which is 60% ABV. Devils Springs is typically used to make the Nutcrackers cocktail, which consists of several high-proof liquors such as Devils Springs, Bacardi 151 rum, and Southern Comfort.

Wine barrel aging is a technique used by a few tequila brands, including Código 1530. The aged expressions are matured in Napa Valley French oak wine barrels, with the Rosa spending just one month picking up flavors and its comely pink hue. Fermented using a yeast sourced from a small family bakery in the town of Amatitán, the Rosa offers bright agave notes up front before finishing with an unmistakable hint of the cabernet sauvignon that previously occupied the barrels.

For this reason, and given its unreasonable alcoholic content of 95%, Everclear 190 is now banned from many countries.

What’s The Difference Between Tequila And Mezcal
You may have heard the rumor that the spirit known as mezcal is simply a smoky version of tequila. In fact, the truth is closer to the reverse of that: the term “mezcal” refers broadly to any distillate of the agave plant produced in Mexico, so the spirit called tequila is simply one specific type of mezcal. While government regulations allow for the production of mezcal in nine different Mexican states, tequila may only be produced in five states: Jalisco, Michoacán, Nayarit, Guanajuato, and certain parts of Tamaulipas. Addionally, while mezcal may be produced from dozens of different agave varietiesresulting in numerous distinct styles and flavor profilestequila may only be produced from the blue Weber agave.

Best Cristalino: 1800 Cristalino
Region: Jalisco, Mexico | ABV: 40% | Tasting Notes: Sweet, Smooth, Peppery
A recent innovation, cristalino is made by stripping the color from aged tequila. Its essentially a way to circumvent the steep pricing of agave due to crop shortages by using what distillers already have in stock. The 1800 Cristalino is a good bottle to uncork when drinking with non-tequila fans. Blended from 16-month-old añejo aged in American and French oak, its rested for an additional six months in former port barrels before double filtering. As youd expect, its sweet on the nose and the palate, with a luscious mouthfeel, but it finishes with some of the pepperiness that bespeaks the agave. Sip this neat or on ice.;

What Is Reposado Tequila
Once agave juices are fermented and distilled, they can be bottled right away or poured into barrels for aging. Reposado, which means rested, tequila is aged between 60 days and one year, often in large American, French, or Canadian oak barrels. Some companies will age their spirits in barrels that have been used for other alcohols, like whiskey, wine, or scotch.
Reposado tequila, which typically boasts a brilliant amber hue, absorbs those sweeter spirits, which creates a distinct flavor and color. The aging process mellows the sometimes-harsh, fresh tequila spice but leaves behind plenty of the blue agave flavor. The resulting spirit retains agave funk but has rounder edges and less bite.

Price Of Vodka And Tequila
The rule of thumb with alcohol is: the better the quality of the spirit, the more expensive it will be. Most connoisseurs will attest to this because they will be able to taste a clear difference between cheap and expensive spirits. Also, the more popular a drink is, the cheaper it is more likely to be. As vodka is the most popular alcoholic drink in America, it is generally cheaper than tequila. Most popular vodkas tend to average around $25 a bottle. Tequila is less popular than vodka but still an affordable option. Most tequilas average around $25-30 a bottle, with the best tequilas being $40 or more. The price of vodka and tequila may be evident in bars and clubs, where shots may differ in price as well as cocktails – though this depends on what other drinks are mixed in.

Why Is Tequila Harder Than Vodka
Depending on the type of tequila you drink, tequila has a higher sugar content than vodka. Blanco or white tequila is made from 100% blue agave which is aged for two weeks to several months.
The blue agave comes with natural sugars as well as the added preservatives to the tequila, which makes it harder.;
Tequila is distilled at different lengths of time depending on what type of tequila it is, rather than vodka that is fermented.
For example, Extra Añejo tequila is distilled in barrels for up to 3 years, which gives it the strongest taste of all the tequila types.;
As vodka has a low sugar content , it is considered less hard than vodka.
Flavored vodka will be filled with extracts from both real fruits and added preservatives, which will make the drink sweeter.;
