If youre wondering about substitutions, you can make the drink with a few other options but a can of coconut milk is best. If youre near a Trader Joes, we like their organic coconut cream in a can.
You can use coconut milk in the carton, if you need to. It doesnt have the creaminess of the canned version, though so it will alter the taste. If you do make this substitution, also add 1 tablespoon of heavy cream to give it that richness.

The Malibu Driver is one of the simplest cocktail recipes out there, with just two ingredients: Malibu coconut rum and orange juice. Because it includes two ounces of the coconut rum, that flavor balances the sweet-tartness of the orange juice, and you get a flavor thats mellow with no rough edges.
This drink looks and tastes like summertime in a glass, but that doesnt mean its just a summer drink. In cold or dreary weather, The Malibu Driver can make you feel like its summer. Just remember not to look out the window.

Step 1: Fill a cocktail glass with ice.
Step 2: Add one shot of Malibu Coconut Rum.
Step 3: Add 2 ounces of Pineapple Juice

Step 5: Top with 2 ounces of Lemon-Lime Soda.
You can use Sprite or 7-up, whichever is your favorite.
This drink is already sweet from the pineapple juice. I find 7-up to be less sweet than Sprite, so I prefer 7-up for this cocktail.
