Dont waste your time shotting this tequila because youll get far more enjoyment out of sipping it or mixing it into cocktails. If you want to drink your tequila in an authentically Mexican way , youll need some small, juicy, light-skinned lemons and a small amount of salt.
You can still use a shot glass, but try to find a traditionally Mexican one. These are typically taller and thinner than standard shot glasses and you can find one by requesting a caballito, which means little horse. Youll want to savor your tequila sip by sip instead of drinking it all at once. Its okay to throw back your tequila with a squeeze of lime and a dash of salt but keep in mind this is how very young tequila is drunk in Mexico. Anything worth savoring is enjoyed slowly.
If youd rather drink your tequila in cocktail form then its important to choose accompanying liquids that bring out all of the best parts of your tequila without overpowering its unique qualities. Fruity, zesty mixers go brilliantly with tequila, as does anything with a sour undertone. Tequila blanco is the standard choice for tequila-based cocktails, as its the cheapest type of tequila with plenty of interesting characteristics. Or, if youre replacing whiskey or bourbon with tequila in a cocktail, opt for the reposado.
Handmade Copper Pot Stills
After our open tank fermenting process, Teremana is then distilled using our handmade copper pot stills. These stills were made by a local artisan on the premises of the distillery. The nature of the handmade copper stills not only harkens back to the days of traditional tequila making processes, but also produces a cleaner, smoother tequila.

There Are Two Expressions So Far
Teremana Tequila offers blanco and reposado expressions. Both are made with 100 percent Blue Weber agave which is roasted in traditional brick ovens and distilled in handmade copper stills. There are rumblings that the brand will be introducing an añejo expression down the road. If thats true, fans will need to wait one to three years for the required aging to finish.

What Makes The Teremana Tequila Reposado Special
This luxuriously potent tequila was founded by Dwayne The Rock Johnson. As such, this tequila features all of the potency and character that you would expect from such a bold and charismatic creator. The producers 100% brick-oven roasting allows Teremana to bring out the bright citrus flavours of their highlands agave. This traditional process takes time, and its worth every second. They roast the agaves for 3 days before shredding them to extract the juices for fermentation and use the leftover agave fibres for organic compost for the agave fields. It Just Rolled Out In Canada
Before his days as a professional wrestler, Johnsons career started in Canada as a CFL player for the Calgary Stampeders. It was a full-circle moment for him in March 2021 when he announced on Instagram, responding to great demand, that Teremana would finally be available in Canada. The product rolled out in select LCBO locations almost immediately with further availability in British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Nova Scotia in the following months.

And, if the caption is anything to go by this is not just some crappy celebrity spirit The Rock is taking it seriously.

Thats all we have to go on for now, so no prices yet nor any news on whether itll be available in the UK, but we do know hell face fierce competition from celeb spirits from the likes of Nick Jonas, whose tequila launched earlier this year.

Dwayne The Rock Johnson is launching his very own brand of tequila.
The 47-year-old actor and former wrestler has taken to Instagram to unveil Teremana Tequila, his own brand of the alcoholic beverage that fans will be able to buy in the first quarter of 2020.
Posting a picture of himself alongside the distillery crew, he wrote The name is official.

The Rock Takes Teremana Tequila To Canada
Dwayne The Rock Johnson has launched his ultra-premium Teremana Tequila brand in Canada.
Teremana Tequila will initially be available in Ontario, before being rolled out to British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Nova Scotia.
Johnson announced the news on Instagram by sharing a video clip in which he joined a group of friends during their Zoom happy hour, who have been requesting Teremana in Canada for some time.
Johnson wrote: After waiting an entire year, Teremana is available now on www.lcbo.com and in stores in Ontario!
Thru the spring and summer we will continue to roll out production in Canadian stores across all provinces.
Canada, thank you for being patient and enjoy the most exciting, delicious and record-breaking Tequila in the world.
Teremana was founded by Johnson, Dany Garcia, Jenna Fagnan and Ken Austin, and launched in March 2020.
The Tequila is produced using 100% Blue Weber agave from the Jalisco highlands. The range currently comprises blanco and reposado expressions.
In December last year, Johnson revealed Teremana was on track to sell 300,000 cases in its first year.
Speaking to The Spirits Business earlier this year, co-founder Fagnan revealed the brands ambitions to become a million-case-selling Tequila.

Jenna Fagnans Helping Dwayne The Rock Johnson Bring His Small
Jalisco, Mexico is a long way from the small village outside Anchorage, Alaska where Jenna Fagnan was born. Yet roaming the agave fields of Mexico with Dwayne The Rock Johnson, she found a common thread: The entire community gets together to socialize, she says, recalling her childhood. Its very community-based, and one of the reasons I love Mexico is that people socialize at that community level in such a wonderful, hospitable way.
This is reflected in Teremana Tequila, Fagnans joint venture with the Hollywood star and their business partner Ken Austin.
Fagnan never imagined shed be exploring Mexico with one of the worlds biggest stars. Growing up with a mother whose motto was girls can do anything, she spent her time playing Tee-ball and pursuing gymnastics, and started working in restaurants at 14. She later headed to San Antonio, Texas to study business, chemistry, and Japanese, and she supported herself by working in Mexican restaurants, which ignited her passion for tequila.

Back then, there was very little on the back bar, Fagnan says. You had one whiskey, two vodkas, one tequila. Everyone was drinking mixto tequila and not feeling great the next day. I remember someone coming in to talk about tequila and learning how there was real tequila out there that was made in a respectful way and didnt have stuff added to it. I found that fascinating, so I loved tequila from then on but never did I think Id work in the business.
