A special edition for the companys five-year anniversary, this Tequila was aged a full five years in Napa Valley wine barrels that previously held Merlot and Cabernet. The end result is a tawny, rose-gold hue and lovely, complex fragrance that melds floral, fruity and honeyed agave, spiced up with peppery hints. Austin-based Dulce Vida Spirits makes an exceptional line of tequilas, and the latest addition to the mix is this duo of ready-to-drink, classic tequila cocktails. Dulce Vida Paloma Made with tequila, grapefruit, lime, and natural flavors. It comes across as light in body, but legitimate, the grapefruit balanced by a significant sweetness that borders on brown sugaresque. The ultimate impact is a beverage that feels more like it was made with aged tequila, not blanco, though thats rarely a bad thing. The tequilas pungency could come through a bit more strongly for my tastes. On the finish, its find a bit of a salty character. B+
Dulce Vida Margarita Made with tequila, lime, and orange liqueur as authentic a ready-to-drink cocktail as you can get. Again, at just 15% abv, its not the most powerful cocktail Ive ever had, but its got all the components in the mix: ample lime, herbal agave, and a hint of orange. Much less sweet than the Paloma, with a peppery bite on the finish, if only it was a bit more powerful I wouldnt have a clue it wasnt hand-made. A-

Before Austin-based Dulce Vida Spirits launched its fruit-infused flavored tequilas, the company needed a packaging partner to manage the enormous undertaking of changing the height of its glass bottle. Prime retail shelf location provided for approximately 13.5 inches Dulce Vidas stock bottle, with the cork, stood at nearly 14 inches tall.
Due to the height, our Blanco tequila bottles were relegated to the top or bottom shelf, which is not ideal, said Richard Sorenson, co-founder, Dulce Vida Spirits and chief operating officer, Milestone Brands, which owns Dulce Vida Spirits. Our real fruit, real juice-infused flavored tequila was a new approach for the tequila market so this was a significant product refresh. We were going after a broader consumer market and it was critical to change the bottle height to fit on any and all shelves.
TricorBraun did all of the heavy lifting. As a tequila producer, I work with suppliers in Mexico every day, but if I had to be managing the process with a new glass manufacturer, it would be more than I could handle while trying to run the business

Tanteo Tequila Flavors
Tanteo Tequila is handmadedistilled, infused and bottledin tiny batches in the mountain town of Tequila, in the Mexican state of Jalisco. Tanteo has created a series of cocktails for all of its flavors, downloadable from the Tanteo website but these tequilas are so beautifully crafted that for us, sipping them straight is the way to go.
The experience is like drinking a spicy vegetable patcha beautiful layering of heat, spice, and the vegetable flavors* of jalapeño and agave. Its Tanteos best-selling flavor, although we bet its mostly used in mixed drinks that cover up that brilliant marriage of flavors. Blanco tequilas arent aged, so they dont pick up barrel flavors. As a result, they taste the most like the agave plant: vegetal. The vegetal quality shows itself the best in this flavor. In fact, the aroma emanating from the shot glass tantalized us from two feet away!
As with the other flavors, we love this tequila straight it also made a terrific Bloody Maria.

Dulce Vida Tequila Pineapple Jalapeo
If you prefer your jalapeño tequila to be tempered with a tropical sweetness, then this pineapple-infused bottling from Dulce Vida is your best bet. They start with 100 percent Blue Weber agave tequila and infuse and blend it with a mix of sweet pineapple and spicy jalapeño. Top it with Topo Chico and a squeeze of lime for an easy refreshing beverage.

Aromas and flavors of agave, citrus, and green apple. The spicy finish makes me think its higher than 40% abv, but its mostly well done. Good budget sipper.Edit: Had to come back and give an extra point to the aroma. The green apple note has grown on me since Ive opened this bottle.

It followed up with destroying my ability to smell and taste. It ruined a nice Friday night. I took one for the team. Please forgive my impulsiveness. I do like the blanco. Those people rating in the 90s are idiots. Can I say that here?

NOM 1551|Smells good w/ jalapeño & agave. Taste is pretty strong jalapeño with agave. I love jalapeño right off the grill & in cooking. The finish is super harsh. Mixed 50/50 with Mi Campo blanco and made a nice spicy margarita.

This is certainly a tequila for mixing. Was absolutely fantastic in a margarita. It smells like fresh jalapeno and had just the right amount of spice. I do not recommend drinking straight or as a shot. The finish is harsh and the spice only adds to the burn. 100% recommend for a spicy margarita.
