For the past several months Ive turned down offers to work with most brands on the cocktails I want to share here. The reasons are mostly practical. Not only do I have enough liquor and liqueurs in my home to start my own small bar, but Ive wanted to avoid the obligation that comes with brand work.
Then a request came in to try this Irish Cream with Irish Whiskey Cocktail I was a bit too wobbly in the knees at the thought of it to refuse.
Its no surprise if you follow this blog for any amount of time in the summer that Im a bit of a fanatic about my yard. This was my 5th summer here . While I left a magnificent yard at my old home, I thought I was ready for less work and more play.
Funny how if you love gardening, you enjoy the work and it is a form of play and I should have known better than to think I would just quit doing something I loved much less stare at rock, sod, and a couple of pathetic plants and be happy.
So Ive taken a lot of time off. It is pretty amazing considering how small this plot of land is just how much time Ive devoted to it over the course of these five summers and in doing so Ive had to make some choices. Create, photograph, and get a blog post doneor, for instance, dig up a new area, surround it with river rock and plant some tomatoes, zinnias and perennial herbs in it.
So nice that I realize my days of sponsored posts and paid gigs may just fall by the wayside I love not owing anyone anything!

How To Drink Jameson Whiskey
Like all the best whiskeys, Jameson is best consumed when you can really concentrate. After all, a lot of thought and care went into the creation of this drink. Gulping it back and following up with a beer, youre going to miss a lot of the subtle flavours going on.
Save the shots for vodka or tequila. Instead, pour yourself a tumbler of whiskeyor snifter. 50 millilitres is a good place to start. We recommend sampling it neat at room temperature, to begin withso you can really get to grips with its bold flavour profile.
Inhale before you sip to really explore the scent. Half the joy of whiskey is in the nose. And when you do drink, take just a small sip, letting it linger on your tongue before swallowing, seeing what flavours you can notice.
If its a little overpowering, you can add a few drops of water with a straw. This will lower the alcohol content, allowing you to detect a greater spectrum of aromatics and flavours.
You can also add ice if you prefer your whiskey chilled. Opt for a large ice cube or ball that will melt slower. Whiskey stones are another good option to avoid dilution.
If you want to mix Jameson with something, you could try a simple ginger and lime or more extravagant cocktails.

Pour Jameson Cold Brew , cold brew coffee & Demorara sugar syrup into a mixing glass with ice and stir for 15-25 seconds. Pour fresh cream into shaker. Shake without ice to thicken the cream for 15-25 seconds. Fill glass with ice, almost to the top, you dont want it to poke through the cream head.

So lets get to it. Heres what you need for four servings.
- 2 cups whole milk
- ½ cup Jameson Irish Whiskey
- ½ cup Baileys Irish Cream
- 2 Tbsp honey
- 1/8 tsp ground ginger
- 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon
Most of this stuff you probably have already in your house, but if you need to run to the store, well wait.
Back already? Here we go.
First, get a small saucepan. In it, pour the milk and the whiskeys. Put the pan on low heat. Add the honey, ginger and cinnamon.
Whisk continuously so nothing scorches until everything is nicely melded. Youre looking, essentially, for the honey to melt and spread throughout.
This process shouldnt take but a few minutes. You want to fill four old fashioned glasses with ice cubes.
Pour your warm blend over the ice and literally put a cherry on top if youve got onea little maraschino would be just the thing.

Jameson Cold Brew Tonic Cocktail
Beat the heat and get a great taste by sipping on this tasty cold-brewed coffee drink thats easy to make at home.
This variation on gin and tonic mixes Jameson cold brew whiskey with refreshing tonic water and a bit of fresh orange twist. If youd like a sweeter drink, you can add simple sugar syrup to taste.
