I would classify myself as a regular drinker, on average 2 times a week, I am not a light weight I can drink shots of tequilla with absolutely no side effects. I recently had 3 shots of grey goose vodka and I cant remember a thing. I am a 41 year old women and I weigh about 136 pounds. Has this ever happened to anyone else, I am concerned that maybe someone put something in my drink.

I dont know all of the vodka connoisseur lingo to describe how I feel about the taste of Grey Goose, but I can tell you that I dont like care much for it. It is a bit overrated and it does not mix well at all. My brother argues that it is smooth like Ciroc. Its not. Ciroc is one of the few vodkas that I can drink on the rocks.

Grey Goose Vodka Review

Let me first make it clear that Grey Goose is a sham. It was created by an American guy, Sidney Frank, as cash grab. What I mean is that Grey Goose is the boy band of the vodka world and Sidney Frank is Lou Perlman. There is nothing inherently special about it. It has no historical recipe or special, modern processes to improve quality. It doesnt even have a heart warming story. Frank planted the distillery in France to take advantage of the perceived elegance of the country. He even jacked the price up so that people would believe it is of higher quality. Let me say it again for those hard of reading: Grey Goose is a sham.

That said, he did an excellent job with his trickery. He created a brand that made him a ton of money and is arguably thought of as the best vodka on the market by the general public. I know a lot of vodkas get made just to score some cash. The reason Grey Goose bugs me is that Frank successfully duped the American public into believing that this vodka is something special when it really isnt.

Impressing A Big Date:

OK, so youre bringing a date back to your place. Dont panicunless, of course, you forgot the cocktails. Cue the Black Orchid. In addition to GREY GOOSE LOrange flavored vodka, this cocktail includes Crème de Violette® this underappreciated liqueur is made from actual violet flowers and has a deep purple color and sweet, floral flavor that wont be easily forgotten. While this one is relatively easy to make, it takes a little bit of planning when it comes to the edible flower garnishes — but its well worth the payoff. The delicate flavors pair well with food, too. Try something that wont overpower — like semi-briny oysters — and your date will be calling you the one in the car ride home.

Mixing Up A Perfect Martini Takes More Practice Than You Might Think

How to Make Summer Cocktails | Grey Goose Vodka

With minimalist cocktails, even the slightest changes can make or break the drink. Which is why we turned to Grey Goose to get their take on how to make a perfect martini.

While James Bond might like his martini shaken, Grey Goose opts for stirred. Shaking allows for too much dilution and makes the drink watered down and slightly frothy, killing the smooth and silky texture that makes a martini so enjoyable. What might surprise you about the Grey Goose martini is the single dash of orange bittersa step the brand uses to bring out the notes in the vodka. When paired with a lemon twist it adds a touch more drama and makes for a remarkable drinking experience.

Once you have the classic down pat, you can explore the world of riffs!

Grey Goose is definitely the Target of the Vodka world very expensive but has a decent taste. Id recommend this Vodka as a last resort without delving into the world of 5 Vodka or other cheap brands sold at Wal-Mart.

The first experience I had with Grey Goose was at a Casino-on-a-boat and it hit the spot well there I finally got a chance to really test a bottle when I was in the middle of a poker-tournament and ran out of other brands. With 15 minutes until the tournament was to re-start, I ran to Wal-Mart , and was disappointed to find that the best they had to offer was Grey Goose. For lack of a better choice, I picked up a bottle and made it back within 10 seconds of the start of the tournament.

I was pleased, although, with the taste of this vodka. It didnt have much of a flavor, but was smooth and acceptable none-the-less. I personally liked it much more that Svedka, but I agree that the price tag leads to purchasing another bottle as unacceptable if there are any other options available.

In an effort to stick with a vodka that I know that actually makes a decent martini, when out to dinner the last two times I ordered Grey Goose. To my surprise, both restaurants were out of Grey Goose. Is this just an unsual coincidence, or is there a supply or distribution problem? Hurricane Sandy ravaged the region about a month ago, so maybe there is a link to these two incidents.

Better Know A Brand: A History Of Grey Goose Vodka

One morning in the summer of 1996, a man named Sidney Frank called up his No.2 at Sidney Frank Importing Co., and told him he had finally figured out the perfect name for his new vodka venture: Grey Goose. Nevermind that at the time there was no bottle, no distillery, and no vodka to take on that name, Frank had a vision.

A mere 8-years later that vision would be sold to Bacardi for $2 Billion, and the ultra-premium vodka sector the brand created would be the fastest growing in the spirits business. So how, exactly, did it all happen?

Born in 1919, Sidney Frank grew up poor in rural Connecticut, just a farm boy who had dreams of breaking the cycle of his familys poverty. An astute student, he was accepted into Brown University, where he rubbed shoulders with the scions of some of the East Coasts richest families. Though ultimately he wouldnt graduate , he had found an avenue into a world of elites that would start him on his road to success.

Through friends at Brown, Sidney Frank met and married Louise Rosenstiel, whose father was then the chief of Schenley Distilleries . Frank went to work in the family business, and showed a knack for it. After the untimely death of his wife, and a subsequent rift with the Rosentiel family, Frank decided to set off on his own, founding Sidney Frank Importing Co.

The gambit worked. Jagermeister became a sensation and with it, Sidney Frank and his company became the stuff of liquor industry legend.

The Key To Mixing Drinks Is Balance: Top Tips To Help You Get Creative With Vodka Cocktails

10 Most Popular Premium Vodka Brands

A dash of Benedictine, a splash of grapefruit, even a pinch of salt the secret is to play around with flavours until you find what works for you, says mixologist Rebecca Sides

I used to work at bars across London some were among the greatest in the world like Artesian at The Langham hotel and Happiness Forgets in Hoxton Square. When you serve people drinks as a bartender, you speak to them, you entertain them, you educate them on drinking, and you can also introduce them to new things. One of the best parts of my job was surprising people with flavour combinations they hadnt experienced before.

This all feeds into my role now with Grey Goose Vodka, where as a brand ambassador I have the lovely job of inspiring people to get creative with it and there are such possibilities.

Once you start experimenting with vodka, you can play around with flavours. If youre new to cocktail making, vodka spritzes are a great way to explore. You can add a splash of grapefruit juice, a tonic, or even a fragrant garnish to draw out the highlights and the nuances of the vodka.

Over lockdown, I noticed that measurements went a bit awry for many people, but the key to mixing drinks is balance its like making a cake. You want to put an equal amount of syrup or sweetener as you do fresh citrus, of course, and you want to balance the aroma with a liqueur or a dry vermouth.

The Extra Special Picnic:

Forget the chips and warm wine. Anyone can throw a well-to-do picnic with some fancy cheeses, gourmet finger foods, and the perfect elevated cocktail. Might we suggest the Cotes dAzur . There are two secret ingredients in this cocktail. The first is GREY GOOSE Le Citron flavored vodka, which is made from 100% natural flavors, has no added sugar, and is gluten free. The second key ingredient is Fleur de sel, known as the caviar of sea salts. Together they have a refined taste that add a touch of delicacy to the drinks flavor. Add in the layered grapefruit flavor, and this cocktail makes a perfect complement to creamier cheeses like brie, or sweet foods like palmiers. Plus, its simple enough to mix in a cooler and carry to wherever you plan on spreading your blanket.

Just a response to TAFFYG2003s post

TAFFYG2003I have had about a year and a half to try lots of vodkas to experiment and enjoy. All of this got started when I discovered that Bacardi rum was not too highly regarded in the rum drinkers world. Out of curiosity, I then decided to research how my much enjoyed Grey Goose stacked up. Much to my surprise, according to this forum and several other sources, it was generally considered an overpriced good quality vodka. Since then, I have tried over two dozen other vodkas, most of which I have rated higher in comparison to Grey Goose.

Cheers!

BILLHi,I started to read these reviews after my girlfriend asked me to pick up a bottle of Grey Goose for her and I chose a different brand recommended by a very knowledgeable manager at a very larger liquor retailer. She broke my chops so I decided to do some checking and found this site. What I do know that a LOT of bars refill PREMIUM bottles with lesser quality quaffs. You may have actually not been drinking G.G. at all but a lower priced and possibly better tasting vodka.

Enjoying A Quiet Movie Night At Home:

Everyone needs a night off from the crowds and the parties — we get it. But theres no need to go it completely alone. Summer movie nights call for a flavorful sangria. This unique GREY GOOSE spiked version also blends blood orange juice and Crème De Mûre for a fruity, cozy cocktail. Add in fresh juice instead of cut fruit, so the sangria wont need to marinate all day like other varieties. The end result is a drink thats refreshing and not too strong — and pairs well with even the biggest tear-jearker.
