I dont know about you all, but one flavor that has screamed, Summer to me since childhood is that FLA VOR ICE freezer pop flavor. You know the ones that come in little plastic tubes that you freeze? I loved those.
The cherry ones in particular had an interesting taste. Not quite cherry. It took me well into adulthood, and a few sips of a Cherry Lime Smirnoff Ice, to figure out why. The cherry freezer pops, apparently, taste more like cherry lime than anything else.
What better way to replicate that taste than with hard liquor?
Im going to be honest here, this drink was a TOTAL accident. I was out of tequila, but I had margarita mix and cherry vodka. So I mixed them together. Boom! New cocktail.
How much liquor you want is totally up to you, so I divided it into parts to make it easier to adjust. I use my shot glasses to measure mixed drinks, and my shot glasses are 2 ounces each.
The cherry vodka cocktail consists of 2 ounces of vodka and 6 ounces of margarita mix. Yours can differ. You might even prefer more vodka. Most of my cocktail recipes are pretty much just guidelines rather than rules.
As for ice? Eh, its totally up to you!

These Cherry Limeade Cocktails have become the unofficial drink of my summer!
Im one of those die-hard Sonic Cherry Limeade fans. Unfortunately, there are no Sonics within 100 miles of me, so whenever we see one on a trip we just have to stop.
Back in the day, it wouldnt be uncommon for me and friends to get a Route 44 Cherry Limeade, add a little vodka to it and head to the beach. I wanted to make a more grown-up version of that so I could feel classy while I sip on it.
That led me to come up with this super easy cherry limeade cocktail recipe. You only need four ingredients, including the vodka, to make it!

How To Make Cherry Limeade
There is no blender needed to make this sweet and refreshing drink. Just get out a pitcher and fill it halfway with crushed ice. In a medium bowl, squeeze one cup of lime juice from limes and add in the sugar. Stir until the sugar has dissolved and pour this over the crushed ice.
Add the Sprite, a jar of maraschino cherries , and a few lime wedges to the pitcher. Stir to combine and serve in the glass of your choice. This will make 10 8-ounce glasses of cherry limeade. Store it in the refrigerator to keep it chilled.

I threw a bit of sugar and water in the saucepan with a ton of fresh cherries and warmed them until they were bursting.
Basically wanted to take a spoon to that saucepan immediately and consume the cherries that way.
