How To Make Frozen Strawberry Margaritas

Nana’s Favorite Margaritas |Texas Roadhouse Hurricane Margarita| Olive Garden Italian Margarita

Making margaritas should be fun and whats better to bring your drink to life other than adding tequila, pinch of lime and some triple sec. The key ingredient being tequila means if you want a tasty drink you need the best possible quality tequila around. Its important to get this step right.

Choosing your liqueur youll need to consider the alcohol percentage. Triple sec is the liqueur of choice with 15-30% alcohol content.

With the addition of frozen limeade concentrate youll make this frozen strawberry margarita a mouth watering experience. Frozen ingredients make this drink a delight and to make it even better, we add salt to the rim. Ask any bartender, no drink is complete without adding salt to the rim

Mango Margarita Recipe Ingredients

Heres what youll need to make this frozen mango margarita:

  • Frozen mango, of course! Im obsessed with Champagne or Ataulfo mangoes because they have a really sweet flavor and creamy texture. I like to buy these fresh mangoes at the store and peel, dice, and freeze them myself. If that sounds like a hassle, though, dont worry. Store bought frozen mango chunks work here too.
  • Lime juice A margarita essential! It makes this cocktail zingy and bright.
  • Tequila Use whatever silver tequila you like best.
  • Cointreau It adds sweetness and a hint of orange flavor.
  • Ice It dilutes the margarita and makes it extra-frosty and cold.
  • And sea salt For the rim of your glass.

Add the frozen mango, lime juice, tequila, and Cointreau to a high-speed blender, and blend until smooth. Then, add the ice, and blend again until the mixture is smooth and frosty. Taste, and adjust the balance if necessary. Finally, enjoy!

Frozen Mango Margarita Ingredients

  • Frozen Mango Chunks
  • Tequila
  • Lime Juice
  • Simple Syrup
  • I like to use frozen fruit chunks instead of a juice and ice cube combination because it makes a smoother frozen margarita. Plus, you dont have to worry about the water from the ice cubes watering down your margarita.

If youre not using store-bought frozen mango cubes, you can make your own by cutting up fresh mango into small chunks and freezing.

    Ingredients & Substitution Suggestions

To make these easy mango margaritas, you will need:

    • Mangoes use frozen mango chunks so there is no need to add ice, which can water down the drink. If you dont have frozen mangoes, you can cube fresh ones and freeze them the night before you plan on making this.
    • Tequila I prefer to use Blanco tequila . Its strong, unaged, and it will complement your other ingredients instead of overpowering the drink.
    • Triple sec triple sec is an orange-flavored liqueur, and my favorite one is Cointreau. Grand Marnier is a good substitute. If you are looking for a less alcoholic cocktail, omit it and replace it with orange juice.
    • Fresh lime juice it makes this cocktail zingy and bright. I highly recommend freshly-squeezed lime juice versus using store-bought lime juice.
    • Agave syrup if you dont have agave syrup on hand, use honey instead, maple syrup, or simple syrup.
    • Chili powder + sea salt to rim the glasses balances out the sweetness of the mango, but you could omit this if you arent into spicy drinks. Feel free to adjust the spice level to your liking.

But nevertheless, cocktails that dont require a blender are preferredso lets get to it.

We love mango margaritas! My husband discovered the deliciousness of mango margaritas at our favorite Mexican restaurant in Reno, Nevada on his first trip with us to the Eastern Sierras over a decade ago.

Part of our love for this tasty sip is that we associate it with embarking on our annual escape a getaway we count down to year round. Its amazing how much a memory or tradition can make flavors so much better.

Im so happy we can enjoy this treat at home without having to worry about the blender stress!

    When Are Mangoes In Season

Since writing my Spring & Summer Recipe Magazine, Ive become even more aware of the seasonality of produce. I dont know that I ever knew the season for mangoes here in California. As it turns out, the peak season is summer.

Some research says the season begins in May, others say late-July. Since I know agriculture doesnt use a calendar, youll just have to be on the lookout for them in the summer.

This recipe, however, doesnt call for fresh mangoes . You can easily buy mango nectar year round.

Items like juices and nectars are great ways to take extra or imperfect produce when its in season and preserving it to use later a great industry way to avoid food waste!
