The Rich History Of Rmy Martin Cognac

Rémy Martin is one of the famous cognac producers in Cognac, France. It was named after the founder, Rémy Martin, a young winegrower and winemaker way back in 1724.

It has an exceptional and excellent brandy production that is widely consumed not just in France but all over the world.

The founder was given the right to plant new grape vines by King Louis XV to make his brand. The founder also appointed Pierrette Trichet as the first female cellar master and Baptiste Loiseau as the youngest cellar master for a major house.

For almost 300 years of making Cognac, Rémy Martin has created a legacy for producing high-quality cognacs and liquors. The house is equipped with copper pot stills and good-quality cellars for Eaux-de-vie.

The premium ingredient is harvested exclusively for Rémy Martin on the vineyard of Petite and Grande Champagne.

The Best Way To Drink Remy Martin

There are many different ways to drink Remy Martin. Some people insist that the only way to drink it is to drink it straight. Although Remy Martin is very enjoyable to drink straight, there are plenty of great Remy Martin cocktails out there as well.

The French 75 is a flavorful and spectacular Remy Martin cocktail. Just mix the cognac with simple syrup and orange juice, and dry champagne. Add a lemon peel twist for a garnish.

Another great Remy Martin cocktail is a Sazerac made with cognac. While the modern Sazerac cocktail that most people drink today is made with whiskey, it was originally made with cognac. The flavor of a cognac Sazerac is lusciously complex.

The Remy Martin Espresso is an especially enjoyable evening cocktail. Simply mix the cognac with dark crème de cacao, espresso, brandied cherry juice, and a touch of sour cherry bitters. This unique cocktail is perfect for coffee lovers.

The History Behind Remy Martin Cognac

What is VSOP Cognac? HOW OLD? Hennessy, Courvoisier, Martell, Rémy Martin

Remy Martin is named after its founder, Remy Martin, who was a winegrower in southwestern France. He started a trading house of cognac in the year 1724, and after his death in 1773, his grandson Remy took care of his business.

During the 17th century, French people could not grow wine yards privately. But since King Louis XV loved the cognac produced by Remy Martin, he gave special permission to plant new wine yards for Remy Martin in 1738.

After World War II, Remy Martin partnered with the Cellar Master, Andre Renaud, to create fine champagne in 1927. Later, Renauds son-in-law, Andre HeriardDubreuil, took over the house in 1965.

This is the only brand to expertise in making fine Champagne cognac, which appoints Pierrette Trichet, the first woman, as a cellar master in 2003. The current cellar master, Baptiste Loiseau, joined them in 2014, leading the brand to make innovative yet traditionally fine cognacs.
