Its limited edition label comes from the fact that only 250 bottles of this vodka were ever released.
Old Facility Versus New Brand
Belvedere Vodka is relatively new compared to the facility it is distilled in. The building that houses the distillery is in a town called Polmos Zyrardów, Poland. Built in 1910, under communist rule, the facility produced a variety of products. At that time, it was called Distillery and Rectification of Spirit and Vodka. Remember the undistilled spirit we talked about earlier? Thats the fermented alcohol-containing liquid which is first produced by the yeast as it feeds on sugar or starch-rich foods. Every vodka requires this liquid. But if you read most vodka reviews or labels, youll see that vodkas are distilled, not undistilled.
- Undistilled: The spirit produced immediately after fermentation.
- Distilled: The spirit after fermentation and a distillation process.
Whats the Distillation Process?
An undistilled spirit tends to have a lower percentage of alcohol. As low as 16%. Most vodkas, however, have a percentage in the late thirties and up.
So, how do they increase the alcohol content?
They distill the spirit. That means they heat the undistilled spirit. Alcohol has a much lower boiling temperature than water, so, the alcohol becomes a gas which is then collected and cooled. When its cooled, it becomes a liquid again. However, the water content and other impurities have been left behind.
The distilled spirit now contains a higher percentage of alcohol. Its purer.

The biggest problem with liquor brands is to find the right way to advertise. In India, liquor brands cant advertise directly and have to take the surrogate route. Thus, how unique the concept has to be when it comes to advertising?
Rodney Williams: Yes, it is quite a challenge and yet its a big opportunity for us as well. In the case of Belvedere weve created vodkas that have a sense of taste and character, because its always been au natural. Hence, we want our consumers to enjoy it by savoring it, not just by drinking it in volume. I believe this is in line with what the government authorities would want from consumers too. Further, were seeing this trend globally where the younger generations the millennials, the older Gen Z are interested in drinking less for drinking better.

What Vodka Would You Want In Your Martini
Out of the three, Belvedere Vodka would be our choice for a classic Martini. Because of its smooth creaminess, it would be most enjoyable to drink in a spirit-forward cocktail. Belvedere does not burn and is overall a lovely spirit.
Neither of us would be mad about a Tito’s Vodka Martini, though. Tito’s is pleasant and smooth enough to drink straight. It would also save a couple of bucks if that’s what you’re looking for.
