Does Coke Go Good With Whiskey
The Jack and Coke is popular because it just works. It tastes great, its bubbly and refreshing, and its easy to make. Its a hit with young drinkers because the taste of the whiskey gets diluted in ten ounces of cola . This cocktail gives you the alcoholic kick without an overwhelming amount of the whiskey flavor.
As Luck Would Have It Our Landlords Delivered A Box Full Of Apples From Their Orchard This Weekend
Of course, I used some for this super easy apple pie filling, but I wanted to do something a little more creative than apple sauce with the remainder.
I ended up using several apples to make apple cider. Who would have thought homemade apple cider was so easy . . . and delicious?!
Im especially impressed at the small amount of added sugar in the form of a couple tablespoons of maple syrup.
I plan to discover a few fall-inspired cocktails using apple cider as a mixer. Im look forward to sharing those with you!
What To Mix With Moonshine
Moonshine, aka unaged whiskey, has a reputation as a renegade spirit in the United States. It was made and consumed illegally in the hollows of Kentucky and West Virginia to the tenements of New York City. The once illicit spirit never gained much traction in bartending circles because its earthy flavor and signature burn never made it the most enjoyable bottle to work with. And while those facets still present some unique challenges when youre trying to make a simple two ingredient drink, there are still plenty of mixers that produce quaffable results. Here are the best things to mix with moonshine.

Dr Pepper Or Cherry Coca
I have decided to add both of these to the same section because, in my experience, Dr pepper and cherry coke can taste very similar.
Im not recommending these as a substitute for Coca-Cola or Pepsi in fact, these two mixers make for great mixers on their own.
If you want to try something new and you want to add different flavors to a whiskey drink, I highly recommend trying the Dr pepper or Cherry Coca-Cola mixers at least once.
Not only will these two drinks add a different dynamic in terms of flavor, but they will also hide the harsh undertones of certain whiskeys.

For some reason I always think of an Old Fashioned aswell, old-fashioned. Like an old guy drink that tastes terrible. But it turns out that there is a reason that this is a classic cocktail. The first time I had this drink was when Mr. Briar and I were visiting Bend, Oregon. It was a crisp, clear autumn day and I was sitting on a patio with a fire pit, fire roaring and crackling, the golden aspen leaves popping against a bright blue sky. On the menu I spied a drink called an Orchard Old Fashioned, and it just seemed like the perfect drink for the day.

Crown Royal Whisky has been blessing us with its glory since 1939. When King George VI and Queen Elizabeth first visited Canada, a Canadian spirits entrepreneur wanted to create the perfect whiskey as a gift. After trying 600 blends, he presented the royal couple with 50 of the smoothest whiskey blends. This became known as Crown Royal Whisky. Crown Royal has evolved to expand on the classic Canadian whisky . Their flavor series includes Texas Mesquite, Salted Caramel, Crown Royal Vanilla, and of course, Crown Royal Apple. We’re going to explore the best mixers and drinks you can make with Crown Royal Regal apple-flavored whisky.
According to Crown Royal, “To create this extraordinary blend, Crown Royal whiskies are hand-selected and infused with Regal Gala Apple flavors.” Consumers love that this blend of bright apple isn’t sickeningly sweet or overpowering. Its flavor is reminiscent of green apple. Even whiskey purists will enjoy the notes of crisp apple flavor in this signature Crown Royal flavor.

Crown Apple And Lemonade Garnish
Garnish is all about a beautiful presentation and it makes a simple drink look fancy!
If youre making this drink for yourself to sip on at home or out by the pool, youll probably want to skip the garnish. Although, I do enjoy eating the apple slices after theyve soaked in the apple whisky. So, maybe add just a few to your drink. I like to call this a cocktail appetizer because its an all-in-one drink and snack.
No time to make it right now? Save it for later and pin it!
If youre hosting a party or serving guests, by all means, add the garnish. This extra little step takes hardly any time and it looks as though youve really gone out of your way to make your friends a special treat.
For a pretty cocktail, youll want to add apple slices and lemon wheels in the drink itself. Then add a few apple slices on top with a lemon wheel perched on the edge of the glass to finish it off.
What Is The Flavor Profile Of Jack Daniels
Jack Daniels meets all of the requirements of an American bourbon whiskey but there is some argument over whether it is one or not .
It is made in Tennessee using a mash bill that is at least 51% corn, along with malted barley and rye.
It is then distilled in large copper stills.
The distillate is aged in American white oak barrels for at least two years.
The key difference separating Jack Daniels from other bourbon whiskeys is that it is filtered through sugar maple charcoal before bottling.
This process strips the bourbon of some of its harsh flavorings, creating a smooth and easy-to-drink bourbon.
This technique, called the Lincoln Country process, is why Jack Daniels is often called a Tennessee whiskey instead of a bourbon.
The dominant flavors in Jack Daniels include caramel, vanilla, butterscotch, oak, lemon, corn, molasses, smoke, bananas, nuts, a hint of spice,

Is Jack Daniels Bourbon
Their website clarifies, Jack Daniels is not a bourbon its a Tennessee Whiskey. Jack Daniels is dripped slowly drop-by-drop through ten feet of firmly packed charcoal before going into new charred oak barrels for maturing. You can tell there are MANY similarities in process, but officially no, it is not bourbon.

How To Make Crown Apple And Lemonade
Step-by-step instructions for all 4 lemonade recipes are below. Lets start with recipe #1!
Step 1: Slice lemons and apples for garnishes.
To make lemon wheels cut the lemon crossways instead of longways. Longways makes a lemon wedge and crossways makes lemon wheels.
To get thin apple slices, start by cutting the apple in half but not right down the middle of the apple. Cut from top to bottom just slightly to the side of the apple core.
Next, place the apple flesh side down on your cutting board. Then start slicing thin cuts from the outside side edge.
A half an apple makes a lot of garnish. In the picture below, Ive cut half an apple and ended up with about 15 slices.
Step 2: Fill a cocktail glass with lemon wheels, apple slices and ice.
Start with a lemon wheel at the bottom and add a few ice cubes to hold it in place. Then add apple slices and lemon wheels alternating with ice. This will hold the fruit slices in place instead of them all floating to the top.
Step 3: Pour a shot or a shot and a half into the glass.
The whisky blends so well with the lemonade you can barely tell its there. Youll taste the apple flavor, but not a strong whisky flavor.
Step 4: Fill the rest of your glass with lemonade. I like Calypso Lemonade or the Simply Lemonade brands. They are both delish!
Step 5: Add garnish.
To make an apple slice fan, use a toothpick or a pretty stainless steel cocktail skewer to hold several slices together.
