Epic Peanut Butter Whiskey Cocktails

I prefer to store my peanut butter whiskey in the freezer. Super cold peanut butter whiskey makes delicious shots all on its own. However, I also prefer cocktails and mixed shots with super cold whiskey.

The exception to this rule is when you’re adding the peanut butter whiskey to a hot drink or baking with it. I like to keep one bottle at room temperature, and leave another in the freezer.

Peanut Butter Irish Whiskey

What to mix with Skrewball? Coffee is a natural pairing with peanut butter whiskey! Make it into an Irish coffee by skipping the sugar and using Skrewball instead. Theres nothing more soul warming than that classic combination of bitter coffee, nutty whisky and frothy whipped cream.

Heres a refreshing way to drink peanut butter whiskey: the classic Whiskey Highball! This two-ingredient cocktail originated around the turn of the 20th century and its still popular to this day. Pairing Skrewball with bubbles is delightfully refreshing.

Most people wouldn’t think to put peanut butter whiskey in a tropical tiki drink, but this sounds beyond tasty!

It’s creamy, sweet, fruity, nutty, and would be a fun alternative to a Pina Colada.

My daughters boyfriend works at a state liquor store, so he gets to see new inventory as it comes in.

He knows my daughter is obsessed with Reeses, so when he saw peanut butter whiskey, he picked up a bottle for them to try.

My daughter could not stop talking about how good it was. Ill admit I was pretty skeptical. Sure, I love a Reeses as much as the next person, but peanut butter whiskey??

I wasnt convinceduntil I tried it! You definitely get the peanut butter flavor immediately. But there are also undertones of chocolate.

I knew it would be perfect mixed with Godiva chocolate liqueur and I was right. Its seriously like Reeses in drink form!

Lets get to the recipe and then Ill share some details about Skrewball peanut butter whiskey.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Old

Peanut Butter Coffee Cocktail â Red Fermented Grapes â Drinks

Why You Should Rethink Flavored Whiskey

For those of us deep into the woods with whiskey, flavored whiskey is a bad term. Derogatory, even. But, for the masses, flavored whiskies are a good thing a way to introduce more people to whiskey.

Evan Williams cinnamon whiskey was the very first whiskey my husband ever drank neat. I converted him through that and old fashioned to a neat bourbon drinker. Now I have to hide the good stuff.

But back to flavored whiskies. Bourbon enthusiasts and whiskey snobs tend to hate them because they love amber bourbon straight from the bottle with nothing added. I am one of those people that love bourbon neat.

The problem for whiskey geeks is that flavoring added to bourbon overpowers the inherent flavor of the whiskey theyre drinking. And thats something they hold in reverence.

Id argue for whiskey drinkers to stop thinking about flavored whiskies as something youd sip neat. Start thinking about them as a cocktail ingredient. Theyre like any liqueur or flavored spirit you might add to a cocktail.

The fact that they have whiskey at their base makes them seem more compatible with whiskey drinks, but in fact, Ive used them with great success with tequila, rum, and gin drinks as a stand-in for other flavored liquors.

So, to my whiskey enthusiasts, Im not saying you should drink it neat, but you might want to add it to an old fashioned, , sour, manhattan, smash, sazerac, boulevardier, etc. Flavored whiskies are made to be mixed.

Peanut Butter Whiskey Old

It may be called old-fashioned, but this cocktail never goes out of style. Its one of my personal favorites because of its simple yet sophisticated flavor. The peanut butter liquor adds a unique nuttiness that elevates the overall taste.

Dont forget to top it off with a garnish! Maraschino cherries on a toothpick make the perfect option for these whiskey drinks by giving them a burst of color and tartness. Substitute these with candied cherries to add a jammy quality instead.

Are you looking for a boozy cocktail for those cold winter days? Dont discount good ol hot cocoa!

Cocktails with peanut butter whiskey are underrated, and this recipe is an excellent example of why.

Who says hot chocolate is just for kids? This adult version is salty, sweet, and cream all in one. Feel free to skip the corn syrup if you like it less sweet. Top it with some mini marshmallows for a fun floating treat.

Warm up with this tasty spirit on a chilly day!

It Tastes Like Caramel Popcorn Melted Down Into A Drink

I know this is supposed to be peanut butter. However, it tastes like caramel popcorn melted down into a drink in the best possible way. I loathe whiskey, so I was scared, but it makes it palatable.

Drinking this makes me feel like Im in Harry Potter. Partially because its buttery, sweet and delicious, like how butterbeer would taste. Probably more so because I keep taking sips of it and its making me buzzed to the point where Im about to convince myself Im an actual wizard.

Skatterbrain is a Canadian whiskey base flavored drink from Universal Brands in Minnesota. It became available to the public in 2020. The packaging of this flavored whiskey is very similar to Skrewbal. Flavor-wise, it has vanilla notes, caramel, and butterscotch taste on top of the peanut butter.

The Elvis Sandwich Shot

On the subject of Elvis… this is more of a shot than a cocktail, but it’s so fun that I thought it deserved an honorable mention! I mean, who wouldn’t want a drink garnished with bacon!?

The shot is equal parts peanut butter whiskey, Creme De Banana , and Irish Cream .

So if you wanted as a cocktail, you could easily just increase the ratios. Regardless of what size you make it, you just HAVE to make sure to add a piece of crispy bacon on top.

â½ Peanut Butter Flavored Whiskey: I’ve definitely jumped on that peanut butter whisky train. I’m not a big whiskey drinker, but I do enjoy straight peanut butter whiskey poured over a large ice cube. It’s so delicious, a bit on the sweet side, and has all the deliciousness of creamy peanut butter. This peanut butter whiskey goes great with that cherry sauce we’ll be making. My favorite brands are Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey, Sheep Dog, Skatterbrain, and P’Nutty.

â½ Lemon Juice: This provides a bit of tartness to the cocktail that will counteract the sweetness. Freshly squeezed lemon juice will give you the best tasting cocktail.

â½ Simple Syrup: If you don’t have any simple syrup sitting in your fridge, don’t worry. It’s really easy to make! Hence the name. It’s one part sugar and one part water, and you just stir over low heat just until sugar is melted. If you just want to make enough for this cocktail, I recommend 1/4 cup sugar with 1/4 cup water.Simple syrup can last about a month when kept in a tightly closed container in the fridge. So make more if you think you’ll use it!

â½ Egg White: Added to make the cocktail foamy!
