The Scarpa Mojito Hike GTX are shoes with a hermaphroditic character. They are low and therefore light which makes them very easy and comfortable to walk. Because of this appearance, you expect that you cant make long mountain walks with them. But. The sole construction is sturdy enough to take a 40-litre backpack and walk a multi-day hike in the middle of the mountains. Just one thing: you have to stand secure on your legs the low flexible shank hardly supports the ankles. The sole itself offers mountains of grip on wet and dry. The coarse profile also makes sure that stones dont get stuck in it and mud is easy to walk out. Under the toes, the sole has nice ridges that ensure that climbing runs smoothly. The heel lacks a bit of a brake for descending. The water-repellent leather ensures that the shoes remain light in wet conditions. The Gore-Tex lining in the shoe is waterproof and breathes well in not too hot weather. The wading height is only 9 cm.
