A proper Vodka Cranberry also uses a touch of Roses sweetened lime and some orange juice to bring out the best of the cranberry flavor.
Because vodka doesnt really change the flavor of the cranberry juice, this cocktail would just taste like straight cranberry juice without some help. The orange and lime add hints of something sharp and bright.
This cocktail recipe is pretty light on the alcohol, so feel free to vary it according to your taste and tolerance. The only alcohol in this drink is vodka, so you can add a little more if you prefer.
You can also leave it out completely when you want a mocktail. That makes it great for parties where some guests might not be drinking.

How To Make Cherry Vanilla Vodka Soda
Pour your favorite vanilla vodka over ice. I tend to eyeball the amount, but feel free to measure exactly. I also prefer large ice cubes as they melt slower. They also wont dilute the drink as quickly.
I add just a bit of maraschino cherry juice to each glass, but not too much. Its a pretty potent syrup and you dont need much at all to get the cherry flavor.
Add plain club soda or your favorite flavored soda water to each glass. I love Limoncello! Ill also squeeze a bit of fresh lime juice too before garnishing.

Do You Have To Use Fresh Lemon Juice For This Cocktail
I highly, HIGHLY recommend using fresh lemon juice for optimum flavor, but in a pinch you could use 2 tbsp of bottled lemon juice instead! You could also add a bit of lemon zest to your cocktail for added lemon flavor!
OH, and if you can get your hands on lemon flavored vodka, it is EXCELLENT in this drink. I havent been able to find any for a while!

The Swedish Polar Bear Cocktail Pretty And Delicious
To celebrate winter, in all of its glory, I figured we should share a tasty winter cocktail recipe. Sure, Id rather be somewhere hot but since Im stuck in Edmonton, I might as well enjoy the decent weather weve been getting as of late with a cocktail, right? This one, like the Scarlet Kiss I shared earlier, was also made by my sister Angela and is called a Swedish Polar Bear.
This is one stunning looking cocktail. It almost makes me not want to drink it, but thankfully my thirst for a good cocktail wont allow it to just sit there untouched.
This is a great drink for winter and is super easy to make. There are two variations on this drink. For those who prefer, you can skip the flavored vodka and use the normal stuff, but in a nutshell, you are going to combine Raspberry Vodka, Blue Curacao, Sprite and a splash of lemon juice. Like I said, if you dont have Raspberry vodka, you can use unflavored vodka, just be aware that the taste of each drink will differ slightly.
