Brandi Carlile brought out Allison Russell and Lucius for guest appearances on Friday during her concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre near Denver. Russell and Lucius both opened Carliles first of two Beyond These Silent Days Tour stops at the famed Morrison, Colorado venue.
LuciusJess Wolfe and Holly Laessig emerged after Brandi began her set with Broken Horses and Mainstream Kid to accompany Carlile and her band on You And Me On The Rock. The song was one of seven from Brandis 2021 studio album, In These Silent Days, played at Red Rocks last night.
Wolfe and Laessig returned later in the set to join Brandi on a cover of Hearts Alone. Carlile went on to end her 15-song main set at Red Rocks sans guests with The Joke and Party Of One. Brandi came back to kick off her encore with a take on Joni Mitchells Woodstock. Carlile then invited Allison Russell and her band to share the stage on Youre Not Alone. Brandi recently contributed to a new studio version of the song originally released by Russells group, Our Native Daughters.
Band members children and family also lined the stage for the memorable Youre Not Alone performance. Carlile then ended the night with Hold Out Your Hand and Stay Gentle. Brandi concludes the two-night stand at Red Rocks tonight.

Brandi Carlile Welcomes Celisse Henderson At Red Rocks Show With Colorado Symphony
Brandi Carlile was joined by Celisse Henderson during Saturdays concert at Red Rocks in Morrison, Colorado. The show was the first of two Carlile is performing with the Colorado Symphony at the scenic outdoor venue.
Alternating between keyboards and guitar, Carlile was accompanied by her several of her bandmates including guitarist Tim Hanseroth, bassist Phil Hanseroth, keyboardist Shooter Jennings and cellist Josh Neumann. The setlist featured a blend of favorites such as The Story and Turpentine with newer material, like the current single Right On Time. Carlile mixed in covers of Elton John and Joni Mitchell songs as well.
Celisse, who is a member of Trey Anastasios Ghosts Of The Forest, emerged during the latter half of last nights show. The orchestra members left the stage ahead of the collaboration that began with Henderson adding guitar to Carliles Raise Hell. The sit-in continued with back-to-back The Highwomen songs, as Carlile brought out her bandmates Kyleen King and Nikki Shorts to help sing Highwomen and Crowded Table. The set concluded with Carlile leading her bandmates and the orchestra through The Joke and Pride And Joy.

Though artists have begun making their way back to touring over the past few months, many of those shows have come with unpredictability and added concerns. Carliles recent shows have been no exception, with the singer/songwriter and her team facing obstacles due to extreme weather and COVID concerns.
It seemed like every show was within 24 hours from getting canceled multiple times, and then a bunch did get canceled, she said. We had two hurricanes, we had wildfire smoke cancel shows. We had heat domes, temperatures above a hundred that are dangerous for everyone. Then we had COVID scares and compliance issues. But it made the shows into huge emotional releases, just because it felt like every single one of them was hard one. Having said that, Im pretty glad to put that gauntlet behind me and go out on the road with a heart full of joy, and feel confident and at peace.
Artist pre-sale will begin Thursday at 10 a.m. local time on Ticketmaster here, with the general on-sale opening Friday at 10 a.m. local time. Brandi Carlile shared a live recording of her current single Right On Time, taken from a recent performance at Red Rocks Amphitheatre while accompanied by the Colorado Symphony. The song will appear on Carliles forthcoming studio album, In These Silent Days, set for release on October 1.
Carlile was joined earlier this month by the Colorado Symphony for two shows at the scenic outdoor venue near Denver. The first night featured Celisse Hendersonjoining Carlile and her band, while the second night saw the legendary Mavis Staples collaborating with Carlile. The live version of Right On Time joins another alternate recording shared by Carlile that was a stripped-down, three-part harmony arrangement performed by Carlile and her longtime bandmates, Phil Hanseroth and Tim Hanseroth .
Earlier this week, Carlile was named Artist Of The Year at the 2021 Americana Awards & Honors ceremony. Carlile will also make her debut as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live on October 23 with host Jason Sudeikis.

Brandi Carlile Welcomes Lucius And Allison Russell At Red Rocks Amphitheatre
Last night, Brandi Carlile performed the first evening of her two-night stand at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colo. During her set, which was part of her ongoing Beyond These Silent Days Tour, the folk star welcomed Allison Russell and Lucius as special guests.
Carlile opened the show with the namesake of her memoir, Broken Horses and Mainstream Kid. She didnt waste much time before she welcomed Lucius Holly Laessig and Jess Wolfe on stage to join her on You and Me on the Rock off her 2021 studio LP, In These Silent Days in total, throughout the evening, Carlile performed seven songs off the project. After Lucius stepped off stage, Carlile continued to perform a mellifluous tracklist which included The Mother,Mama Werewolf, a cover of David Bowies Space Oddity, followed by Creep by Radiohead, This Time Tomorrow, and more. Towards the tail end of the set, Carlile once again welcomed Wolfe and Laessig for a cover of Hearts Alone. She then ended her main set without guests, closing with The Joke and Party Of One.
