Stillhouse Spirits Named Official Bourbon Of Daytona International Speedway And Daytona 500
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. Officials from Daytona International Speedway and STILLHOUSE Spirits, a part of the portfolio of Bacardi Limited, announced today that STILLHOUSE Black Bourbon has become the Official Bourbon of the Daytona International Speedway and the DAYTONA 500.
As part of the multi-year partnership, STILLHOUSE will have a major presence at The World Center of Racing, beginning with August 27-28 NASCAR weekend, featuring the Coke Zero Sugar 400, the last-chance, regular-season finale race for drivers to make the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs.
Race fans will be able to enjoy the taste of STILLHOUSE Black Bourbon refreshments at a host of locations throughout the iconic 2.5-mile venue, including concession stands two of which will be branded with STILLHOUSE Bourbon and premium club areas . Van Brunt Stillhouse is an artisanal brewery located in Red Hook, Brooklyn, New York. Named after Cornelius Van Brunt, one of the neighbourhoods founding fathers, it dates back to the pre-Prohibition era. The distillery sources local ingredients for its whiskies, which have a mash bill of a minimum of 51 percent rye. They are unfiltered, and aged in charred oak barrels of American oak. There are four main types of whiskey that are produced here.
The Van Brunt Stillhouse American Whiskey is a four grain whiskey, primarily made from wheat and malted barley, with traces of corn and rye. Van Brunt Stillhouse American Whiskey Made from New York grains, made primarily from malted barley and wheat, with a little bit of corn and a touch of rye. No age statement, but it spends just five months in American oak barrels. Incredibly young on the nose, its loaded with grain, funky and skunky. The palate doesnt really alter course. Here the grain has a more malty character, but the finish is lengthy with grain husks, bean sprouts, and lumberyard remnants. Not my bag, though the mashbill sounds intriguing. C- / $36
Van Brunt Stillhouse Due North Rum Made from organic Himalayan sugar. Aged an indeterminate amount of time, but its hitting the spot reasonably well. Its young, for sure, but the rum is full of brown sugar and molasses notes that hold down some of the more husky notes from distillation. Touches of apple, pumpkin pie spices, and a moderate finish. Lots going on here, and its coming together. A couple more years in barrel would probably seal the deal. B / $23

Stillhouse Moonshine: An Interview With White Whiskey Pioneer Brad Beckerman
Corn whiskey is one of the great spirits of North America. But for a long time it was more or less exclusively associated with moonshine and not really available to the vast majority of modern-day consumers. That has all changed recently and the category is currently exploding. Stillhouse is a leader in it and produces a white whiskey crafted from 100% corn in varieties ranging from classic moonshine-style to flavored versions like peach tea, coconut, and more. We recently spoke with Brad Beckerman, CEO of Stillhouse Moonshine, for a look into the inner-workings of one of the most exciting spirit categories in the market today.
Brian: How exactly did you come to create this product thats having such an impact right now?
Brad: I guess the journey started about five years ago. II was in the music merchandise business, and as a serial entrepreneur and someone with a type-A personality, not standing still, I was kind of looking for my next venture.
I was approached by a friend of mine named Adam Perry Lang, who is a fairly well known BBQ chef that was doing a bunch of different BBQ related events. Whether it would be from Jack Daniels, Makers, or other people, guys were coming up to him with Mason jars of this clear spirit that they called hooch, or white lightening, and a light bulb went off in his head.
Brian: When you say theres a difference, are you talking about regulatory, or just from a consumer perception standpoint?

Chattanooga Whiskey Experimental Distillery
Located at the original site on Market Street, this location was first named Tennessee Stillhouse after the Chattanooga Whiskey parent company of the same name. The distillery opened in March, 2015, at which point all the blending and bottling for 1816 began. This location makes approximately one barrel of whiskey per week on a 100-gallon system with one cooker, three fermenters, and a Vendome hybrid pot/column still.
As the home of the Experimental Single Batch Series and the birthplace of Tennessee High Malt, the distillery has released eight batches of experimental whiskey since August 2017, most highlighting a high malt style.
What Is Stillhouse Moonshine Made From
STILLHOUSE Moonshine is created entirely of Corn Whiskey and contains no other ingredients. It is made entirely of natural ingredients, is handmade, and is distilled in a copper kettle. Neither the brown hue nor the heaviness of regular whiskey can be found in STILLHOUSE Moonshine, which is made without the use of aging or storage in barrels.

Review: Stillhouse Black Bourbon
While I have trouble believing that Americas Finest anything is packaged in the same type of can that they sell turpentine in, I am pleased to see that Stillhouse best known for its increasingly chaotic line of flavored moonshines is taking things upmarket. Now Stillhouse is out with a wholly new line, ditching the red can for a black one, which is appropriate because its called Black Bourbon.
Whats Black Bourbon? Black Bourbon is a real bourbon , made with corn, rye, and barley and then aged in new charred oak, which is then rested & mellowed in roasted coffee beans. Yes, there are a lot of questions here about how and where the bourbon is made, how old it is, and what rested & mellowed means, but when youre drinking out of a paint thinner can, one has little need for the answers to such questions. One is mainly concerned with how the stuff actually tastes.

Stillhouse Apple Crisp Whiskey is made from a 100% clear corn whiskey base. The corn is estate grown in Culpepper Virginia, distilled four times in traditional copper whiskey stills and charcoal filtered. Natural apple crisp liqueur is infused before packaging in a 100% stainless steel can that bares a strong resemblance to a can of lighter fluid. The Stillhouse brand was first launched in 2010 and was initially sold as a moonshine. While the recipe has not changed, the packaging, name, and marketing has. Rapper G-Eazy joined Stillhouse as an investment partner and Co-Creative Director in 2017. The aroma is cinnamon baked apple with a corn whiskey backing.
