Grey Goose Launches Vx A Cognac

CORAL GABLES, Fla., Aug. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ GREY GOOSE vodka announces the introduction of a groundbreaking new spirit GREY GOOSE VX in the US market. An exclusive edition of GREY GOOSE inspired by the spirit making traditions of its creator and Maitre de Chai Francois Thibault, VX is masterfully finished with a hint of precious Cognac, resulting in a discerning new spirit that delivers an exceptional new taste experience to luxury spirit connoisseurs.

Thibaults passion for crafting extraordinary spirits began as a Cellar Master in Cognac and led him to create GREY GOOSE, a vodka built from the ground up through a field to bottle process that celebrates the quality and taste of its ingredients. By delving deeper into his expertise, Thibault has created a unique new expression of GREY GOOSE one that draws from past tradition, and expertly marries a hint of precious Cognac with GREY GOOSE vodka to create something truly distinctive.

GREY GOOSE VX is created by marrying GREY GOOSE vodka with a hint of precious Cognac made by Francois exclusively for GREY GOOSE VX that is crafted with grapes from the Grande Champagne region including a rare harvest from the GREY GOOSE brand home Le Logis, and aged in hand selected old cask barrels made of Limousin oak for up to two years.

Vive La Vodka: The Unmistakable Frenchness Of Grey Goose

In the heart of Picardy, cellar master François Thibault tastes every batch of the spirit he created to ensure the aromas and flavours reflect the quality of the ingredients he uses

Stretching from the Parisian suburbs to the vineyards of Champagne, Picardy is a flat, low region dotted with medieval churches and pastel-hued resort towns. The oceanic climate mild, wet and windy ensures perfect wheat without irrigation. Sown in autumn, this soft winter wheat matures over nine months. It retains consistent quality year after year, earning Picardy the nickname the breadbasket of France. Some of this wheat, however, is destined to be fermented not baked.

If this wheat is good enough for French bread, then it is good enough for Grey Goose, says François Thibault, the man who drew on his 25 years of wine and cognac-making expertise, knowledge of French culinary values such as quality and provenance, and a touch of inspiration, to create Grey Goose French Vodka. From simplicity and quality, he says sagely, comes incredible complexity.

Grey Goose uses just two ingredients: spring water from Grey Gooses own well in Gensac-la-Pallue, Cognac and soft winter wheat from Picardy. Even in the potato-rich countries of eastern Europe, wheat is the number one ingredient in its vodka making wheat provenance of crucial importance. French wheat is renowned for its quality and the best wheat in France is grown in Picardy.

The Fruit Flavors Come From Actual Fruit

Grey Goose, like most major commercial vodka producers, has brand extensions beyond their classic formula, namely four fruit varieties: orange, pear, lemon, and black cherry. In this case, the fruit flavors infused into the basic vodka actually come from fruit The lemons come from Menton, in the south the pears hail from the Loire Valley and the black cherries are sourced from the village of Itzassou in French Basque country.

The whole fruits are delivered to a parfumerie in Grasse , where the flavors and aromas are extracted and shipped back to Grey Goose in Cognac as essential oils that are then blended with the classic formula.

Bacardi In The United States

In 1964 Bacardi opened its new US offices in Miami, Florida. Exiled Cuban architect Enrique Gutierrez created a building that was hurricane-proof, using a system of steel cables and pulleys which allow the building to move slightly in the event of a strong shock. The steel cables are anchored into the bedrock and extend through marble-covered shafts up to the top floor, where they are led over large pulleys. Outside, on both sides of the eight-story building, more than 28,000 tiles painted and fired by Brazilian artist , depicting abstract blue flowers, were placed on the walls according to the artist’s exact specifications.

In 1973, the Company commissioned the square building in the plaza. Architect Ignacio Carrera-Justiz used cantilevered construction, a style invented by . Wright observed how well trees with taproots withstood hurricane-force winds. The building, raised 47 feet off the ground around a central core, features four massive walls, made of sections of inch-thick hammered glass mural tapestries, designed and manufactured in France. The striking design of the annex, affectionately known as the ‘Jewel Box’ building, came from a painting by German artist Johannes M. Dietz.

In 2006, Bacardi USA leased a 15-story headquarters complex in . Bacardi had employees in seven buildings across at the time.

The current American headquarters is in . The 300 employees occupy 230,000 square feet of leased office space.

Dont Drink Grey Goose Unless Youre A College Drunk

I was re-watching The Sopranos the other day. I highly recommend it, as the series holds up, but in Season Three, I was jolted by a jarringly inauthentic moment. An alleged Russian mobster pours drinks for himself and Tony Soprano of Grey Goose vodka.

Now, I realize the French have made quite a reputation for themselves in matters of gastronomy and intoxication. Their wine, their cheese, their duck confit far be it from me to push the people out of their well-deserved lane. To be honest, their accomplishments generally outshine my own hereditary Slavs in that department.

But vodka, vodka we know.

Contra your neighborhood hipster bar, there is no such thing as craft vodka. Vodka is vodka, and there are only two kinds of it at the end of the day. Theres the good kind, which tastes like melted ice and allows you to conduct your business in the morning, and the bad kind, which comes in a plastic bottle and tastes like a draining fluid hangover, but has the advantage of being a cheap buzz until you wake up with a spike through your temple. Grey Goose is the latter, priced like a fine bottle from Reims.

Whoever decided that we should extend the gourmet trust the French have rightfully earned in other arenas to vodka should be tried by a jury of his peers and executed in the street.

I realize its 2020. I understand that insipid influencers now rule popular taste, and that theyre probably no worse than the tastemakers who came before them.

Geneva Rabbi Itzhak Dayan bemoaned the “damage done” by Vaad Hakashrus Belz USA who questioned the kashrus of the popular Grey Goose vodka which he certifies. Star-K has kept it on the approved list. Full Story

Rabbi Itzhak Dayan, Rabbi of the Jewish community of Geneva in Switzerland, has bemoaned recent statements that questioned the kosher status of the Grey Goose vodka which he says he has been certifying.

I hereby come to clarify unequivocally in an unambiguous way that all the alcohol that is brought to the Grey Goose factory is produced from wheat which grows in the Picardie region in France , Rabbi Dayan wrote in a letter to the Chief Rabbinate of Israel.

Rabbi Dayan said that damage was done following a 29th of Kislev 5782 notice of Rabbi Asher Eckstein, Chairman of Vaad Hakashrus Belz USA, which said Grey Goose contains grape alcohol in their unflavored beverage. Rabbi Eckstein has since backtracked his letter.

It is a pity that they didnt call me , Rabbi Dayan wrote in the letter dated Tuesday, 3 Teves 5782 December 7, 2021. He asked that the kosher division of Israels Rabbinate put out a notice that Grey Goose is indeed allowed.

Determining Vodka Quality And Price

If all vodkas were the same wed only have one vodka. The differences are subtle, Tony Abou-Ganim, a mixologist and the author of Vodka Distilled, told USA TODAY.

At its core, vodka is distilled alcohol and water, but the ingredients and process used to make the alcohol vary by brand and country. Vodka enthusiasts contend that high quality ingredients and a more stringent process, like the one used by Grey Goose, justify its high price tag, Abou-Ganim explained.

It costs more to produce a vodka with rye or wheat than with sugarcane, for instance. The source of your water could factor into the price, and then theres importation costs, he said.

While differences in the prices of wheat, water and the machinery used for distillation may be individually small among products, those initial costs can compound to produce wide variations in price.

And hopefully, in turn, for the additional expense that you put in, the consumer will have a better experience at the end, Abou-Ganim said.

The Claim: Costcos Kirkland Signature Brand Vodka Is Actually Grey Goose

Are high-end vodkas outdone in taste by their cheaper, less prestigious peers? What makes a good vodka anyway? These questions are central to a viral claim thats circulated online for years.

Is Costcos Kirkland Brand of Vodka The Same As Grey Goose? an article from the recipe site 12Tomatoes reads. The question breathed life back into a years-old belief among many that the big box store’s less expensive and reportedly high-quality vodka was actually the prestigious vodka brand in different packaging.

Claims that comparable products are being sold under brands with wildly different price tags is nothing new.

But Grey Goose expressly denies the claims are true, citing the unique qualities and process of its brand. Other factors, including the production and origin of the vodkas, mean that while the two products may taste similar for some, they are different drinks.
