Chuck E Cheese With Beer

When you walk in you know you are entering a brewery, however once you enter the main room there are kids running ALL OVER the place. There was even a kids birthday party going on. Not really what we expected but the beer was good. Would have liked to stay longer but wasnt in the mood for screaming, crying kids. People were awesome and the beer was great, just didnt want to have drinks with little ones. Check it out if you dont mind the commotion.

We spent part of an afternoon here busy and fun place with lots of games and beer choices. Ordering food was confusing and difficult and not well thought out. Took several attempts to get someones attention with no success so we ended up going to the restaurant next door for a quick bite.

Buyout And Modern Redesign

In the summer of 2012 Chuck E. Cheese Entertainment, Inc. was ready to make some major changes to push the brand forward in a new direction. Much of this was accomplished by contemporizing the Chuck E. Cheese character into a CGI rockstar mouse, with a completely new look and a brand new voice. In May the company had announced they were working with the Dallas-based Richards Group on the new marketing campaign. However, any successful roll-out of the rebranding that the company was planning, quickly went up in flames prior to the official debut.

Most of the press received over the rockstar rebranding was a disaster, not to mention that the character updates werent immediately popular with the general public. Sales failed to turn around, forcing the company to release a plain text annual report, the likes of which had not been seen since Pizza Time Theatre entered bankruptcy in the early 1980s. In 2014 Apollo Global Management acquired Chuck E. Cheese Entertainment, Inc. and its 577 worldwide stores for approximately $950 million. As a result of the merger, Chuck E. Cheeses became a privately-held, wholly-owned subsidiary of affiliates of Apollo. Soon after, the company acquired the Peter Piper Pizza chain of restaurants operating both chains under the parent company Queso Holdings, Inc.

Whats At Chuck E Cheese

They have beer!

Chuck E. Cheese is more than just a restaurant its a giant video arcade for little kids that also sells food. Its a lot like Pizza Planet, the place where Buzz Lightyear and Woody visit in the movie Toy Story, although not quite as fancy.

At Chuck E. Cheese there are ball toss games, car races, an air hockey table, video games, jumping games, photo booths and lots and lots of noise and lights all of which little people love!

Whats especially good about Chuck E. Cheese is the price each game costs less than 50 cents, so far less than a regular arcade game that adults and teenagers might normally play.

The trouble with the low price though is you will want to play lots of games. Still, if you ration your tokens, a family with two children can probably last up to 90 minutes playing games for only about $30, without food, but up to $100 if they go truly crazy.

There are two other great things about Chuck E. Cheese. First, children love the fact that games spit out tickets that they can collect and redeem at the end for cheap little prizes.

Second, when they need a break from the excitement, parents love the fact that the restaurant is secure, so they can sit and relax at a table while their kids run off on their own.

Chuck. E. Cheese, the pizzeria-entertainment venue that has delighted and thrilled children for decades, has always found itself in a constant state of evolution. According to The Los Angeles Times, despite both past and recent times not being so kind to the chain,, the company has always seemed to pull through by focusing on innovation. This meant swapping out ball pits and jungle gyms for video and arcade games and revamping Chuck’s design to be friendlier, even giving him the voice of Jaret Reddick of Bowling for Soup .

Innovation is in the company’s blood, per se, as even when the restaurant first opened, it wasn’t only marketed to kids. It’s also historically catered to adults.

It Really Is A Kind Of Earthly Paradise

Helen Sessions / Alamy Stock Photo

In one of his best essays, George Orwell described his ideal pub as a place only two minutes from a bus stop where people go for conversation as much as for the beer, with a florid ceiling stained dark yellow by tobacco-smoke and swings and a chute for the children. Sounds like a dream, right?

Alas, at the end of the piece the great man was forced to admit that no real-life public house met all of his exacting requirements. While the world is in many ways a much nastier place than it was when Orwell was writing for The Listener, I am happy to report that I have found his dream bar. Its called Chuck E. Cheeses.

Its true that you cant actually smoke inside anymore, but otherwise the Irving, Texas-headquartered family pizza chain is the genuine article. It is, simply put, the best place to have a few beers with your spouse while your kids scream their heads off amid the glittering jeweled lights of the arcade games and float leisurely in soft seas of many-colored plastic balls, while the fumes of pizza and draft Budweiser waft upward toward the heavens.

It really is a kind of earthly paradise.

First It Was Toys R Us Now Chuck E Cheese Is Closing

Everyone loves to share nostalgia with their children, things that brought them happiness when they were growing up. Its amazing how almost every 70s babys childhood is being wiped away one by one. Wow, we might all be a little dramatic when it comes to things that we love going awaylike when I heard about them taking away the Twinkie. Twinkies are back! But I got anxiety about Twinkies for no reason.

Then, it was the closure of Toys R Us! It was the first place I took my daughter to pick out her own toys. Yes, we still have Target & Walmart but its just not the same as rewarding a child and taking them to the toy store. Buying toys online is not the same as a child walking down the aisle of a toy store and being drawn to a certain item by that exciting magic.

Oh Chuck E. Cheese, I will miss the smell, the sounds of laughter, the salad bar, the look on my daughters face when you came from out the back in your costume and the birthday parties with the singing puppets! The skee-ball machine and all the tickets. Oh, those tickets brought more smiles than candy! Getting to pick a toy to take home was everything. I still have our play cards and coins. I promised my baby we would use them when social distancing was over I dont have the heart to tell her yet! Ima just let this one play out and not make a big deal about it. The exciting thing is there will be something new. Hopefully, they wont serve beer!

Chuck E Cheese To Serve Beer And Wine To Attract Young Parents

Chuck E. Cheese is adding new options to its menu that includes beer and wine, a new effort to win over millennial moms.

The chain is trying to appeal to young moms because majority of the time moms are deciding where theyre taking their children.

Her kids know its a fun place to go, but millennial moms want to provide that great experience without sacrificing for themselves, Greg Casale, the head chef at CEC Entertainment, Chuck E. Cheeses parent company, said in an interview with Bloomberg.

Chuck E. Cheese, a place where kids often host birthday parties filled with pizza, games and sugary drinks, is appealing to millennials to increase sales. In 2014, sales slipped 2.2 percent, Bloomberg reported.

The chain found that children wanted to go to Chuck E. Cheese an average of 11 times a year, but only went three times because parents were not taking them. Part of the reason was because they didnt like the menu.

The menu will feature beer, wine and some new healthier food choices. A few locations already offer a small selection of beers. More beer and wine choices will be added to all 588 locations.

Some other menu changes include a new thin-crust pizza that has 23 fewer calories than its regular slice of pizza, and chicken Caesar and club wraps. A pizza topped with macaroni and cheese will also be added to its limited-time-only menu an option mostly geared toward its younger demographic.

Pssst Hey Cedar Falls Parents Chuck E Cheese Serves Alcohol Now

Can You Buy Beer At Chuck E Cheese

Where a kid can be a kid!

Where can a parent get a drink around here?

Chuck E. Cheese was huge when I was a kid, and the hype around it hasnt died down. I miss the days where I could frantically consume pizza, climb around in a large play arena with a bunch of other sweaty kids, and gamble my parents money away on mindless arcade gamessimpler times.

Now, at the Cedar Falls location there will be something that adults can do.

The Cedar Falls City council met on Monday, May 3rd for their bi-weekly meeting. During the new business section of the meeting, they went through approving various applications for beer permits and liquor licenses. Some of the hot spots in Cedar Falls had their licenses renewed, and Chuck E. Cheese got approval for a new liquor license.

Chuck E. Cheese, the popular kids venue on University Avenue in Cedar Falls officially has been approved for a Special Class C Liquor license. This license allows for commercial establishments to sell alcoholic liquor, wine, and beer for on-premises consumption, as stated by the Iowa Alcoholic Beverage Division.

So now parents can throw back a cold one while their kids loose their minds with this animatronic, cartoon rat. I loved this place as a kid, but now I totally would need to open up a sippy cup of wine to be able to deal with all of the screaming kids.

To top it all off, with this license you can get carry-out drinks. Now parents will be busting down this places doors.

Cold Pizza And Warm Beer: Chuck E Cheese At 21

Visiting the restaurant where kids can be kids as an adult is not as awkward as you might think.

It might be safe to assume just about every kid that grew up in the 90s and early 2000s has been to a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheeses at least once. I remember how it was a total blast running around between games with my friends back in the day. The last time I went to a Chuck E. Cheeses was about seven or eight years ago, and I pass by one on the 401 in Mississauga every now and again. As it turns out, the restaurant is doing pretty well for itself based on a quick Google search. I found one in Cambridge and drove over on a Saturday afternoon to see if it was like I remembered. After prepping myself mentally for 10 minutes in the parking lot and promising my friends I would live tweet what it was like in there, I went inside.

For those wondering, Chuck E. Cheeses is totally fine with adults coming in by themselves or without kids. When I first mentioned this idea to some friends I was told they had a policy where if you are by yourself they would not let you in. As it turns out, all they do is give you and your kid a matching stamp so no one can make off with your little ball of joy. I know this because I called in advance and let the manager know, I just really want to play some Skee-Ball.

All in all, Chuck E. Cheeses is still fun to go to as an adult, but I would recommend going with some friends when it is quiet if you want to get a nostalgia trip.

City Grants Permit To Allow Alcohol Expansion At Chuck E Cheese’s

A popular childrens-themed entertainment and restaurant business in Longview can add alcoholic beverages to its menu after a 4-2 vote by the City Council on Thursday.

The Special Use Permit granted to Chuck E. Cheese’s restaurant on Loop 281 allows it to sell more beer and wine products.

I dont agree with it. I feel like it is a childrens place, District 6 Councilman Steve Pirtle said, adding that a child could take a swig of someones alcoholic beverage thinking it was a soft drink.

One resident, Magan Tyler, spoke in opposition to Chuck. E. Cheeses request during one of five public hearings held Thursday.

This is for kids, and Id like for it to stay for kids, she said.

Lane Edwards, director of licensing for Irving-based CEC Entertainment, said the restaurant maintains a two-drink maximum for any customer over a 24-hour period, and uses barcode technology to track customers alcohol purchases across all of its restaurants.

City Planner Angela Choy said the restaurant needed the permit, because its gaming sales outpace its food sales.

Council members also approved a property tax rate, rezoned Hinsley Park property slated become a 38-acre retail development, and amended the Future Land Use Map to try keeping at least one retailer out of a Longview neighborhood.

Expect more updates on this developing story.
