A massive uproar among fans of Read Dead Online now calling to #SaveRedDeadOnline
A new Red Dead Online update for January 2022 from Rockstar Games was received more poorly than usual from disappointed fans fed up with Rockstars antics.
Recently, Rockstar Games revealed that Red Dead Online would only be getting RDO$ and experience point bonuses for A Land of Opportunities, Call to Arms, and Gang hideouts existing missions and events, some of which still running for over two years now.
Despite promising the moon and more when the game first came out in 2018, Rockstar basically treated Read Dead Online as an afterthought, while giving all its attention to its eight year old money maker, Grand Theft Auto Online. Not to beat a dead horse even more, Grand Theft Auto Online just got a massive storyline update with Dr. Dre.
But despite whats happening outside of RDO, this update for 2022 was the straw that broke the camels back for many long time unhappy fans.

When it comes to total consumption of nine bottles of liquor, Madame Nazar can sell every one for 160 dollars. The Collectors Role requires an entry fee of fifty dollars.

Red Dead Redemption : Where To Find The Whisky Tree
While youre out gallivanting in the wilderness, keep your eye out for the Whisky Tree in Red Dead Redemption 2.
If you head East from Flatneck Station you’ll come across the Whisky Tree. Sadly, this tree doesnt actually produce any whisky, but there are a few dozen bottles tied to its branches and one of them has a gold nugget inside.
It’s standing on its own so is quite easy to see and theres a convict wandering around the area whose shackles you can choose to shoot off or ignore, but that’s for another time.

The first thing you need to know is that you can sell a bottle of whisky online, but you cannot sell it yourself. You have to go through someone with the relevant licences. This is for one simple but important reason:
Alcohol is a controlled drug and the sale of it is highly regulated by Government.

We cant write a guide to selling whisky without mentioning the traditional bricks and mortar salerooms, as they were the birthplace of the resale market for whisky. Although they used to have a monopoly on the market, all of the above options have really eaten into their dominance and traditional auctions are now sadly in decline.
High commission rates for buyers and sellers and the lack of focused marketing are the main reasons for this demise.
Many of the traditional salerooms sell antiques and collectors items as their mainstay, with whisky being a small part of their calendar of sales. As such, their marketing budgets for whisky are often not as high as the online options so they do not achieve the same reach to the specialist buyers and often dont achieve the best prices.
The real nail in the coffin for the traditional salerooms though is the commission they charge both the buyer and seller. Standard selling fees are 18% for the seller AND 28.8% for the buyer. What that means is you only receive 53% of what the buyer had to pay for your bottle. The high buyers premium is taken into account by buyers and as such they reduce their bids accordingly.

The Market For Selling Whisky In 2021
The market for bottles of rare single malt whisky has remained buoyant even throughout this turbulent year. Bottles continue to break records and distilleries continue to release new and unique bottlings.
As you are probably aware by now, the market for single malt scotch whisky has risen dramatically over the last few years. There was huge growth in 2020 for certain bottles through lockdown and this growth has continued through 2021. A good example demonstrating just how much the market has risen is Macallan Private Eye. It was first released in 1996 with a retail price of £36. It was a limited edition of 5,000 bottles and was advertised for sale very widely across national newspapers.
Just 11 years after release the value had jumped to £240 at auction quite a healthy 566% ROI. Jump forward another 10 years to 2017 and the auction price had jumped again, but this time to £1,500 .
The market then took a real leap and the market reached its peak in October 2018 with prices for Private Eye reaching a staggering £4,000 . This moment also marked a turning point for the market. Prices have been gently falling ever since as the market has become saturated with bottles.
In early 2021 we have seen the price of Macallan Private Eye jump to around £4,000 to £4,500 proving the appetite remains for this bottle.

eBay was once a good place to sell whisky online. This changed in 2014 when eBay introduced a blanket ban on the sale of alcohol. The reasons for this were simple by allowing people without the relevant licenses to sell their whisky on eBay they were facilitating the illegal sale of alcohol and were open to litigation. In 2018 eBay allowed certain retailers to list whisky for sale once more but each retailer had to go through a rigorous screening process.
Summary: you cannot sell whisky on eBay and are liable to prosecution if caught.
Facebook then took over as the place to sell whisky online. Dozens of specialist groups soon sprung up and until July 2019 thousands of bottles were sold each month. You could list your bottle for sale with an asking price and people would contact you to complete the sale.
