This is the best Chilis Margarita. When I took my first sip, I struggled with whether to put this one above the Fresca. James and Mike wouldnt touch it. Kari said people generally stay away from it. But I was sure of my choice putting it at the top of this list by my second sip. Its balanced between sweet, salty, spicy, and boozy. I took a bite of one of the four jalapeño slices , and it is indeed fresh jalapeño. Every time the spice takes your taste buds out of orbit, the sweetness draws them back in. Its not overwhelming, but its there. Its definitely there.
This drink made the initial 35-minute journey from Manhattan to New Jersey worth the trip. It was good enough to make me forget the calorie content listed next to each drink. It was good enough to keep me content on the ride back to Manhattan after spending the entirety of my Tuesday night at a New Jersey Chilis. This is the best Margarita at Chilis, the chain restaurant that defines itself by its Margaritas. Its more than that. Its a solid Marg in general.

Margaritas are no longer just for summer with Chili’s new $5 Margarita of the Month. According to Delish, the fast-casual chain is embracing fall and the back-to-school season with their September special drink, which features an ingredient that might surprise you. The outlet states that, in addition to the standard tequila you expect to get when ordering a margarita, Chili’s is adding some whiskey to celebrate the end of summer.
Dubbed the Jack to School ‘Rita, the Chili’s September $5 Margarita of the Month is made with Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Apple Whiskey, Lunazul tequila, the chain’s signature fresh sour mix, and a dash of coconut. On their website, Jack Daniel’s describes the Tennessee Apple Whiskey as being made with real green apples for a crisp, fresh taste. The Jack to School Rita’ comes on the rocks, rimmed with citrus sugar. Delish states that you can get the special drink through the whole month of September to dine-in, for delivery via Doordash, or to go, depending on your local restrictions.
Though You Don’t Have To Be Dealing With Going Back To School To Need A Drink Right Now
Chili’s is working under the assumption that all parents are ready to grab a drink. It’s a sweeping premise, but it’s hard to argue with the logic.
Chili’s Marg of the Month for September is called the Jack to School ‘Rita. As the Baby Back Rib chain always does, the Marg of the Month is just $5. The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention still recommends you order food for the road instead of eating inside a restaurant. Fortunately, Chili’s has shifted to allow you to nab a margarita to-go where that’s allowed by local laws.
The not-so-descriptive title sits atop a drink made with Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Apple Whiskey, Lunazal tequila, fresh sour, and “a hint of coconut.” It’s served on the rocks with a citrus sugar rim.
Additionally, Chili’s is unsurprisingly celebrating National Baby Back Rib Day on September 3. Of course it is. It’s the chain that wrote what I have to assume is the faux-holiday’s theme music. To celebrate saucy ribs, you can get a $15 Smokehouse Combo or a $17 Ultimate Smokehouse Combo. Ribs and a margarita aren’t a bad solo dinner to grab yourself after the kid are in bed and you’re done being parent/teacher/chef/etc.
