I wasn’t a big fan of Margaritas until I tried Tanteo Jalapeños Margaritas. It’s the freshest infused tequila out there, It’s got a very refreshing taste with a touch of spice. They infuse real Jalapeños in 100% Blue Webber Agave. I highly recommend Tanteo, once you try it, you will not drink any other Tequila.

Tanteo Tequila Flavors
Tanteo Tequila is handmadedistilled, infused and bottledin tiny batches in the mountain town of Tequila, in the Mexican state of Jalisco. Tanteo has created a series of cocktails for all of its flavors, downloadable from the Tanteo website but these tequilas are so beautifully crafted that for us, sipping them straight is the way to go.
The experience is like drinking a spicy vegetable patcha beautiful layering of heat, spice, and the vegetable flavors* of jalapeño and agave. Its Tanteos best-selling flavor, although we bet its mostly used in mixed drinks that cover up that brilliant marriage of flavors. Blanco tequilas arent aged, so they dont pick up barrel flavors. As a result, they taste the most like the agave plant: vegetal. The vegetal quality shows itself the best in this flavor. In fact, the aroma emanating from the shot glass tantalized us from two feet away!
As with the other flavors, we love this tequila straight it also made a terrific Bloody Maria.

Dulce Vida Tequila Pineapple Jalapeo
If you prefer your jalapeño tequila to be tempered with a tropical sweetness, then this pineapple-infused bottling from Dulce Vida is your best bet. They start with 100 percent Blue Weber agave tequila and infuse and blend it with a mix of sweet pineapple and spicy jalapeño. Top it with Topo Chico and a squeeze of lime for an easy refreshing beverage.

NOM 1551|Oh my gosh. Im so embarrassed. I bought an airplane bottle out of curiosity. This stuff filled the room with jalapeño aroma when I opened it. It followed up with destroying my ability to smell and taste. It ruined a nice Friday night. I took one for the team. Please forgive my impulsiveness. I do like the blanco. Those people rating in the 90s are idiots. Can I say that here?

NOM 1551|Smells good w/ jalapeño & agave. Taste is pretty strong jalapeño with agave. I love jalapeño right off the grill & in cooking. The finish is super harsh. Mixed 50/50 with Mi Campo blanco and made a nice spicy margarita.

This is certainly a tequila for mixing. Was absolutely fantastic in a margarita. It smells like fresh jalapeno and had just the right amount of spice. I do not recommend drinking straight or as a shot. The finish is harsh and the spice only adds to the burn. 100% recommend for a spicy margarita.

Review: Tanteo Blanco And Pepper
A lot has changed since we first covered Tanteo Tequila back in 2009. Back then, the company was focused exclusively on flavored tequilas, with offerings ranging from tropical fruit to chocolate. Recently, Tanteo dropped two of its three flavors and doubled down on peppers. In addition to its jalapeno flavored tequila, it rolled out chipotle and habanero varieties all made from locally sourced peppers. Even more recently, it took an even bolder step: Releasing its first unflavored tequila, Tanteo Blanco.
All of the tequilas are made at a new distillery in Juanacatlan , which are made from fair trade, 100% Blue Weber agave, then distilled utilizing traditional cooking methods and open-air fermentation. And be sure to note the higher proof 42.5% abv of the blanco.
We recently received all four of Tanteos current offerings for review. Lets dig in.
Tanteo Jalapeno Tequila The green pungency of the jalapeno is evident from the start here, its peppery heat and Tex-Mex impact immediately enveloping on the nose. The pepper sears the lips if theyre the least bit chapped, but its altogether a manageable heat warming and enveloping in its spiciness and never off-putting. The vegetal greenness and natural spice of the jalapeno is tamed a bit by a slight hint of brown sugar, making the finish more approachable yet still quite punchy than it might otherwise be. 80 proof. Sino Jalapeo Infused Silver Tequila
This is the perfect jalapeño tequila to drink if you like a touch of spice but arent a serious hot head. Sino steeps jalapeños in their 100 percent Blue Weber agave tequila for six days prior to filtration and bottling for a zesty, cocktail-ready spirit. The flavor is fresh and bright with notes of lime and a sweet-spicy, agave-rich finish.

Agave Loco Pepper Cured Tequila
Another peppery reposado expression, Agave Loco Pepper Cured Tequila is aged for six months in ex-bourbon barrels then infused with jalapeño, habanero and serrano peppers, along with three varieties of sweet peppers. The palate is peppers and wood with a smooth finish that doesnt linger uncomfortably long. Try this piquant tequila in a Bloody Maria for an extra rich take on the drink.
