I used this NutLiquor Peanut Butter Vodka in a few drinks lately that have become some new favorites for me. Peanut buttermaybe a strange flavor for vodka? I kind of thought so at first, that is until I tried it.
It reminded me of Frangelico at first, which is a hazelnut liquor thats pretty popular I love ordering a Nutty Irishmen for an after dinner drink when were out to eat.
But I soon discovered Nutliquor Vodka definitely has a distinctive peanut butter flavor. I used it in my PB& J Cooler which is a light sipping drink, but I also had thought of making it into a martinipretty much because the vodka is staright up then. No seltzer to water to water it down.
I looked on their website and found a PB& J Martini made with Chambord that I thought sounded pretty interesting, or you could make my PB& J Cooler and just strain it into a martini glass and loose the seltzer.
And heres the good news those of you with peanut allergies can still enjoy this delicious vodka as it doesnt contain a peanut allergen. Finally some good news for those peanut allergy sufferersyou can at least have vodka!

Finally, the wait is over as Van Gogh Vodka recently unveiled their latest flavor: PB& J. At long last, you can get that mom packed my lunch flavor from a bottle of booze.

Now its worth noting that Van Gogh unveiled the new flavor this past Monday, which was the day after April Fools Day. While this would seem to cast doubt over the legitimacy of PB& J vodka, the distillers posted a drink recipe featuring the flavored spirit just hours ago.

Who doesnt like the idea of a nice NutLiquor? Me. Thats who.
Now before I begin to rant about how stupid this 69 proof peanut butter vodka is, I must say that I havent tried it. Maybe its delicious. Maybe Id be a huge NutLiquor fan and hang out with other NutLiquors, all of us slurping down this nut-inspired nectar like a bunch of drunken squirrels. Who knows.
My problem is with the cheesy pun of a name. Stuff like this always makes me crazy , when it seems that a product has been created to fulfill a sophomoric name some advertising manchild has come up with instead of out of a demand in the marketplace or a distillers ingenuity.
On the other hand, this could very well be someones baby, one which they labored over getting just right, only to have some smarmy marketing slickster come along and give it a name that only the ladies and a few guys who play for the other team will appreciate. What dude wants to order a NutLiquor?
Anyway, I bet this stuff would make for some interesting mixed drinks, as the peanut butter flavor is probably a welcome addition to the mixologists toolkit.
But over all, ugh. Just ugh. Is this what weve come to? NutLiquor? Really?
