Titos Was Started With A Pile Of Credit Cards And Very Little Cash
Like most startups, Titos began in debt, to the tune of $90K spread out over 19 credit cards. Beveridge went all-in when he started the brand in 1997, hand-bottling vodka, screwing caps on bottles, and putting Elmers glue on paper labels. He even slept next to the still in the early days. But to say this was a sound investment is a profound understatement. Titos sales exploded more than 60 percent in 2017 and have increased approximately 20 percent annually since. And its worth billions now, with an estimated one-fourth share of the vodka market and revenues approaching $1.4 billion in 2020.
Of Premium Spirits And Storytelling
As the market for spirits continues to grow, a couple of factors have become increasingly important: one is brand, the other is storytelling. Storytelling specifically has become all the rage in the spirit industry as brands spin up elaborate stories around their products featuring legends about everything from mythical sea creatures over dangerous highwaymen, famed crooners and even 17th century Jamaican governors with a taste for piracy. And thats all well and good, but it does make for some overly fantastic, obviously fabricated stories and in some cases even difficulty in discerning fact from fiction.
In the case of Titos Handmade Vodka, they do things a little differently than most, though. While they do have a brand, obviously, its not much of a brand compared to the big buck brands like Belvedere and Grey Goose and its certainly not pushed in the same aggressive way. Also, unlike many other premium brands, they do not feel the need to dwell in the department of over-enthusiastic storytelling involving myths and legend. Why not you ask? Because they have what many brands lack, is a complete lack of legend and tall tales replaced by a very simple and very real story about a real man behind the brand. A man who may, if he plays his cards right, be well on his way to becoming legend. What they have is company founder Tito Beveridge , his vodka and the tale of how a simple man and his vodka became a success against all odds.

The vanilla vodka is such a drink that can be a great mixer with any type of favorite flavor. Extra soda, lemon juice, cream on top, tonic soda if added can make your drink more delicious. Besides, various juices and drinks, for example, Cranberry juice, mint taste, pineapple juice, orange, and lemon juice will definitely enhance the refreshing flavor of your vanilla vodka to a different level.
This allows you to add any extra flavor with the Vanilla vodka. Apart from flavors, sweet pie, cake, and savory spicy dishes will make a great combination with the vanilla vodka.
Titos Handmade Vodka Review By Ben
Finally got around to trying this vodka. Normally, it sells for $20 or more in my area, so I wasnt in any hurry. I recently saw a fifth for $16.99 and I had to act. I took a cold shot and was impressed by how easy it was to drink. It went down easy like Svedka, but there was no bad aftertaste. I followed with a shot of Sobieski, which was more noticable going down and had a stronger aftertaste. I capped it off by shooting Titos one more time and came away impressed. Titos is probably the best vodka Ive had thus far. Of the 16 brands Ive tried in 2009, this one is tops.

An excellent vodka and at a very good price. While it may not be the best, it is superbly smooth and great tasting overall. The bottle is unassuming and not as fancy as the super-premium vodkas, but Titos is the real dealespecially for the price. There are better vodkas, but Titos is worthy of a 5/5. Give it a try.

Who Bought Titos Goa
Over the past two decades, Club Titos became the place to be for everyone looking to party the night away on a beach. The move to exit the business came as a surprise to many. Meanwhile, Club LPK owner Nandan Kudchadkar took to social media to announce an iconic acquisition which would take it to greater heights.
A Man With A Mission Birth Of The American Craft Distillery Movement
Well, not so fast young grasshopper Before all of this does start to sound a little too simple and superficial, maybe we should mention that this Tito, while probably largely unknown outside the inner circles of the distiller community, isnt just Mr. Anybody and that his story is all but simple. While the outline above does hold true, Mr. Beveridge Tito to friends aside from being a geologist and a vodka aficionado who decided to get into vodka-making, is actually a recipient of the Wine Enthusiast Spirit Brand / Distiller of the Year award for 2014 for his tireless work over the past two decades to help found and shape the American craft distillery movement.
A self-taught distiller and entrepreneur, Tito scoured library books for info on distilling all while perfecting his own 100% corn-mash recipe and building his own still largely based on prohibition era photographs, favoring a traditional pot still rather than the larger column stills used to produce most commercial vodkas these days. His inspiration for his work were the craft brewers who built their reputation and brewing business from scratch on a foundation of hard work and in turn, he ended opening up what would be Americas first modern craft distillery:

Titos Handmade Vodka Review By Austin Smith
I picked up some Titos about an hour ago. Threw it in a shaker and stirred it up with some ice, strained it and it was time for the test.
The initial taste was, well no taste. As it continued to slide over my tongue I noticed a slight appearance of some kind of flavor. This is by far one of the smoothest vodkas I have had. But that after taste is almost indescribable. It left my mouth feeling a bit slippery, maybe it has to do with being distilled from corn?
Sipping next to 360 made me realize that there are two distinct sensations stemming subsequently from the descent of the vodka, from the mouth into the stomach. For Titos it is the appearance of that taste that begins on the back of your tongue and slowly makes it way to your whole mouth, which for me is not very pleasant, but that not that unpleasant. For 360, its a slight burn which leaves the pallet feeling clean and refreshed, with little to no taste that I can distinguish.
Over all, I am not sure if I will buy this again. The price wasnt bad but wasnt great. I gave it too my wife to try first, which resulted in a scrutched up face and a shrugging of the shoulders. Price ended up being 36 for 1.75L.
But again, everyones tastes are different. It all depends on the pallet

I am in the liquor and wine industry in NJ. I sell Grey Goose, Ketel One, Absolut, Stolichnaya, Leaf, Platinum and so on. Tito Beveridge is the kind of guy who actually came to our sales meeting, and told his amazing story. He dabbled in a few different businesses before settling on the distilling. Grey Goose and the others are all very excellent products, but this is American made, corn vodka, copper pot distilled and smooth as silk. His idea was to create a vodka that women could drink that wouldnt burn. He did just that. For the money, I defy anyone to find a better quality product. This is the kind of spirit that sells itself on the price/quality factor. Since this is a Titos forum, I will leave it at that. The other products I distribute are all excellent and have their well deserved fan-bases. Since I am on a pretty much gluten-free diet, this is my choice. Platinum 7X distilled by Sazerac is another excellent product at a VERY good price. Sazerac, for those who dont know, makes the legendary Pappy Van Winkle bourbons and also Fireball.

Thia truly is the finest vodka in the world!!! I actually got a chance to meet Tito Beveridge and learn that the distillation process takes up to 7 days to make one batch of his delicious vodka compared to something like grey goose which only takes about 2-3 hours! As far as the packaging, youre right. it is simple and I asked Tito about it. He simply Yates hat of he put it in a fancy bottle, hed have to charge 5-10 dollars more do something you throw away when youre done. Its also Gluten free since its made from 100% corn and 100% American Made. Thats always nice to know especially in these times when we need to support our local business! So, buy American, buy high quality, buy gluten free, buy family owned, buy simple packaging and pay half what you would for grey goose!!!!
How Is Vodka Made
As a relatively straightforward spirit, vodka can be distilled from virtually anything. Its mostly produced by fermenting potatoes or cereal grains like wheat or rye. The majority of plain vodkas and almost all Russian vodkas are created with wheat, while Polish vodka favours rye and Finnish vodka goes for barley. When vodka is produced using something other than potato or cereal grain, like Ciroc, which is made using grapes, it must legally be declared on the bottle.
To make vodka, the potato or grain is heated to form a mash before being mixed with yeast to produce ethanol. This fermentation process can take anything from one day to two weeks before the liquid is purified to remove any odours or off notes. Then, its distilled in column stills or pot stills to reach its desired purity.
The vodka, at 95.6 percent, is then diluted to around 50% with purified or spring water before being distilled again, at which point infusions can be added. The spirit is finished in the pot before common additives like honey or sugar are added. Before the final step, every bottle of vodka goes through a particle filter before its chilled and sold.

Belvedere Is One Of Our Top Three Picks
If you’re a “I’m going to buy this vodka because I like the label” kind of person, then we’ll be surprised if you’ve never picked up a bottle of Belvedere before. The name itself just sounds fancy, and, as noted by Drizly, the vodka itself is excellent. Belvedere markets itself as the “true expression of luxury vodka,” and is the result of a 600-year vodka-making tradition originally from Poland. It is made with Polish Dankowski Rye and is distilled four times in order to “create the perfect balance of character and purity.” It also doesn’t have any added glycerin, sugar, or additives, so you know you’re getting the good stuff.
Belvedere is a fantastic choice as well, because it is not only great for sipping, but it makes the perfect martini . The only slight downside to Belvedere, as you may have guessed, is the cost. For a 1L bottle, you’re looking at dropping about $40, which isn’t exactly the most budget-friendly idea. But if you have a bit to spare, Belvedere is absolutely the right choice.
Is Tito An Actual Person
Yes! The person for whom the spirit is named after is its creator Bert Tito Beveridge, which by the way, isnt it ironic that the pronunciation of his last name sounds just like the word beverage?
Beveridge, a geophysicist, geologist and sixth-generation San Antonian, obtained the states first legal distilling permit and created the popular vodka brand. He was also in charge of creating the bottles label in 1994.

Titos Handmade Vodka Review By Rajir
One of the Best Vodkas for the money you can find. Those Texas boys know what they are doing and Titos is the Reason Grey Goose sales have seriously declined. Im noticing different patterns on this forum, some saying things that simply can not be true. Are you guzzling the drink or using it as recommended. Put in your freezer & shake it a little before trying Titos.
Pau Maui Vodka Isn’t For Everyone
Pineapple is a controversial fruit. Some people love a piña colada more than life itself. Others can’t stand pineapple on top of pizza, and some find even the scent of the tropical fruit off-putting altogether. So this next vodka might be a winner for some and an absolute loser for others. The Pau Maui Vodka, intermixed with the flavor of pineapple, goes for $19.98 a bottle and is the creation of Mark Nigbur. According to Flaviar, Nigbur and the LeVecke family created a micro-distillery in Maui and went to town, creating the Hali’imale Distilling Company and the Pau Maui spirit in the process.
So how do the reviews for this particular vodka run? A lot of them go in completely different directions, with some being harsher than others. For instance, one customer said that the vodka had a “pretty harsh flavor” and that they preferred using it as a mixing spirit rather than something to drink straight. Another reviewer said that the vodka was “on the low end of average,” and yet another said that it had a “very strong nose curling aftertaste.” So we’ll leave the decision to try this one up to you.

What Is A Seabreeze Cocktail
Its a vodka mixed drink thats tart and sweet from cranberry juice with a touch of bitterness from grapefruit juice. The two juices combined are delicious!
A Seabreeze drink is served over ice and can be made with a cocktail shaker, or you can just combine everything in a glass and stir.
Because its cold and fruity, its a great beach drink, but the color is perfect for the holiday season, too! I think once you try it, youll find all kinds of reasons to make it throughout the year.

Inside Titos Vodka: How A Man Named Beveridge Built A $25 Billion Fortune
Bert Tito Beveridge stands with a homemade still in 2013.
Michael Thad Carter For Forbes
Bert Beveridge, the founder of Titos Handmade Vodka, is appropriately named for a spirits entrepreneur.
The 55-year-old Texan, whose nickname is Tito, has earned a fortune with his eponymous vodka. His Austin, Texas-based company sold an estimated 45 million bottles of Titos Handmade last year. It will likely sell about 58 million bottles this year, according to research firm Beverage Marketing Corporation.
Those numbers, and the continued high growth expected of Titos, have made the company more valuable than ever. Based on 2016 sales, it is worth an estimated $2.5 billion, and Beveridge, who owns the business outright, is a new member of The Forbes 400.
Beveridge took a winding path into the liquor trade, as detailed in a 2013 Forbes profile. He grew up in San Antonio, where he played polo and had aspirations of training horses for a living. By the time he enrolled at the University of Texas at Austin, his plans had changed, and he majored in geology and geophysics.
After graduation he began a career in the oil and gas industry, which took him from Texas to Venezuela and Colombia. Next came a stint in the mortgage trade in the early 1990s. It was around that time that he started making flavored vodkas for friends as Christmas gifts.
The vodka business was calling.
The rest is high-proof history.
