How Is Tito’s Vodka Made
In the early days of Tito’s Vodka, it was produced in a self-made 16-gallon pot still cobbled together by Beveridge. For that, according to him, he used two kegs of Dr. Pepper, a turkey-frying rig, photos of prohibition-era stills – and surely a lot of creativity. He named it Mockingbird Distillery after the Texan state bird for good luck. And he produced, filled, sealed, labeled, and distributed every single bottle for a long while.
Even though those days lie in the past, Tito’s Vodka is still produced in old-fashioned pot stills. And that is pretty uncommon for Vodka, as the majority of brands use column stills for their production. Working with pot stills is more labor-intensive. However, it’s the preferred method when you aim to produce spirits of the highest quality.
Details on the production process are a well-kept secret. They only reveal that their corn mash gets distilled no less than six times. And the method is supposed to be similar to that of single malt Scotch or French cognac. But based on the large production volumes, experts assume that they now use a combination of pot and column stills. Tito’s never confirmed this, though.
Tito’s gets distilled from 100% corn with the help of only water and yeast. They also don’t add mash later on during the process as some others may do. That’s why it is entirely naturally gluten-free.
What The Vodka Cranberry Drink Tastes Like
The Vodka Cranberry is sometimes thought of as a beginners drink because its not very strong and you dont really taste the alcohol. But its a delicious drink for anyone.
The great thing about this drink is how refreshing it is without being strong. The lime and cranberry are both tart, which really wakes up your taste buds.
But you also get some sweetness from the dash of orange juice, and that makes it delicious.
Note that some bartenders do make this drink much stronger. The classic recipe only calls for an ounce of vodka, but some put in a good bit more.
When its mixed according to this recipe, the only reason youll know the vodka is in there is that slight burn you feel as it goes down. And it is really slight.
If you want a regular strength drink, you certainly can bump the vodka up to the standard 1 1/2 ounces without changing the flavor noticeably.
If you want your drink on the strong side, bump it up to two ounces of vodka and just reduce the cranberry juice accordingly.

I finally got the opportunity to try Titos today, picked up a handle and the local liquor store. Thus far I have only had a non-chilled shot as I was too impatient to try it to wait for the freezer. I am extremely impressed, even warm this vodka is incredibly smooth. As I was then curious I followed that with a shot of Sobieski from the freezer, I almost think the Titos was smoother than the frozen Sobieski, at any rate it was extremely close in smoothness. Overall there was just something about the Titos I liked better. This may become my new standby.
As a side note for those in the NY Capital District both Hoosick Liquor on Rt 7 in Troy and Plaza Liquor farther up the road in the same plaza as Price Chopper carry Titos. Hoosick was out but told me they do stock it and were ordering more, Plaza had a few bottles on hand at $29.99 for a handle.

Can I Make This Bailys Martini Without Alcohol

If youve been around here any time at all, you know I love a good cocktail. While I like to imbibe, I do so responsibly. I also like to try new drinks. A Star Spangled Titos Cocktail is a fab drink to try on a hot summer day. It just so happens that its also a perfect cocktail for the 4th of July.
Half & Half Spindrift
The bubbly Arnold Palmer from sparkling water purveyor Spindrift is an excellent complement to vodka, especially if you pour it over ice and garnish with a lemon wedge. The results are bright and breezy, the perfect late-afternoon or happy-hour sipper. The only thing keeping this from ranking higher on our list is availability Half & Half is sold on and in chains like Target, but its a pretty specific item, and you might not have it lying around when the mood for a vodka cocktail strikes.

The Story Behind Tito’s Vodka
Tito’s Vodka is a creation of Bert Beveridge. And as with most success stories, it started with some failed businesses. It’s a prime example of what can happen if you seriously set your mind to something.
So besides being informational, the story is also inspirational and hopefully motivational.
Tito Beveridge started out in the oil and gas business, went to Venezuela, returned to Texas to try his luck with a drilling company. From there, he moved on to round water geology and finally, get got into the mortgage business. Around that time -the early 1990s- he also began making homemade flavored Vodka for fun and to give to his family and friends. Due to that, Beveridge was known as the “Vodka Guy” among his friends even before Tito’s Handmade surfaced. But that, as well, was off to somewhat of a rough start.
When mortgage rates went up, Beveridge decided to introduce his flavored Vodka to liquor stores in the area. And, as you may have guessed, he got turned down by all of them. But not without giving Tito some advice on how he could try tackling the spirit market instead. And that was with a self-distilled, quality product.

There are some people out there who drink because they enjoy the flavor, while others are just looking for a good time. If youre someone who wants to get a bit of a buzz without spending a ton of money , then New Amsterdam vodka might be a good choice for you. At just $11.99 for a 750ml bottle, the price does a lot of the talking about the smoothness of this spirit. New Amsterdam has also gotten a variety of colorful reviews, so lets take a look at some of them, courtesy of Total Wine.
One reviewer cut right to it, saying, Nail polish remover probably tastes better. Six simple words that give so much sensory detail. The review continued, When I first opened bottle I almost dropped it because it smelled that bad. I thought it would be decent vodka at budget price. I guess you get what you pay for!!
