The atmosphere is awesome. Live music from local musicians is always a nice touch! Jasim, was our server and he was Fantastic!! Very knowledgeable about the menu, and made reccomendations to our party. The food was surprisingly great, I was impressed with the presentation of the dishes. I look forward to the next visit.

Weekend Combo: Brunch And Spirits At World Of Beer

World of Beer Bar & Kitchen may be best known for its huge selection of brews and its tavern atmosphere, but heres another reason to visit: Brunch on Saturday and Sunday. Theres a covered outdoor patio, which is perfect if you want to go out on a rainy morning. Arrive early, and youll have your pick of tables.

World of Beer started in Tampa in 2007 when best friends Scott Zepp and Matt LaFon were having a couple of craft beers and talking about their future. Were told the original location started as a retail store but evolved into a neighborhood tavern when the guys noticed customers were looking for a place to sit, talk beer and spend time with friends. In 2010, Ben Novello and Jim Pollard joined the team and stepped up the growth. There are currently 50 locations nationwide and one site in Beijing.

Jason Frimmel and Sean Githens, franchise owners of the Tallahassee site, remodeled and renovated the former home of Genghis Grill. The casual pub setting is accented with wood, offers lots of booths, and has attractions like the Topgolf Swing Suites. WOB has 22 TVs, with four on the patio.

Review Of World Of Beer

A bunch of us went Saturday for their breakfast brunch. The food in this place is excellent if you can get it. We all ordered and the food came out one person at a time do the last person got their food 25 minutes after the first person was served. The brunch runs 7-9 dollars per entree and you get unlimited mimosas for an additional 12 dollars so around 20 dollars per person before tip and tax. Not the usual brunch set up. Like I said food was great. By the way, the last person served got their good for free. This was due to the server taking it off the bill.

Tried this place because close to new home in the area and it will be our new favorite place-great specials and happy hour-nice comfortable vibe and nice doors that roll up to outside seating. Prices are fair on food, slightly high on beers but its fun to try new things. We will be back here for sure. Service was relaxing and as needed which was great for us.

We Tried 4 Items From World Of Beer’s New Sunday Brunch Menu In North Myrtle Beach

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH Don’t let the World of Beer name fool you.

The bar that opened earlier this year just south of Seabrook Plantation Way also introduced a breakfast-heavy brunch menu on Sundays for those who may not have had breakfast by the time they open, which is 11 a.m.

Don’t get me wrong they’ve been known for their better-than-bar-food menu with delicious flatbreads, an impeccable ribeye steak and an IPA salmon, which is a grilled Atlantic salmon brushed with an IPA glaze. So when I heard they introduced a new brunch menu this fall that they only serve on Sundays, I thought there’d be more “unch” items on the menu.

Nonetheless, I took a stab at four new items on the menu and somehow avoided the wildly popular giant Bavarian pretzel served with their signature stone-ground mustard. Here are my thoughts, in order of preference:

Steak & Egg Breakfast Bowl

This was, by far, the best item on their new menu. It contained breakfast potatoes, two eggs any style, mixed with a hollandaise sauce, cooked-to-order steak on the side of the mound of eggs and potatoes, and topped with crispy fried onions and fresh avocado.

As requested, the steak was cooked medium and had an incredible taste to it. The blend of the eggs, potatoes, hollandaise and even the onions made this dish savory. It was a protein-packed bowl I could have every Sunday.

Getting An Early Start

World of Beer will also be closed during this time, so don’t be showing up trying to order a burger and beer next Saturday from 10-3 cause it ain’t gonna happen! And be advised, you can’t buy tickets at the door either, so it’s best to get them in advance.

When asked why he chose to hold a beer fest in this early-morning format, Frimmel said it was all about offering Tallahassee craft beer fans “something new and exciting.”

“We want to do something special for the community and our team. This event is an opportunity for our team to have a fun change of pace, and for our community to enjoy an event that hasn’t happened before,” he said. “We also wanted to start early so folks can get a ‘lap’ in before it gets hot outside. That being said, we will have a multitude of fans on site, to keep our folks cool.”

Frimmel shared the tap list with us, and it looks quite a bit different than other beer fests we’ve been to in that World Of Beer which prides itself on offering beer from all corners of the globe is putting hard-to-find beers from all over on the tap list.

Sure, ALL the locals we have all come to expect will still be offered and represented at the event like Proof, Lake Tribe, Deep, Ology, Oyster City and Southern Fields but also be on the lookout for some delicious beers from well-known breweries like Edmund’s Oast, Prairie Artisan Ales, Wicked Weed, DuClaw Brewing, Captain Lawrence, and Untitled Art.

Benefit For Tallahassee’s Junior League

Frimmel said he was motivated to put on the event because of how successful he saw the other beer festivals in Tallahassee were and he also wanted to do something to help the Junior League.

“We received a lot of inspiration from other beer festival, especially the Tallahassee Beer Festival coming up on Sept. 10,” he said. “Their format of donating to charities is admirable and we wanted to do our part too, in a smaller format. The is a nonprofit we have worked with several times in the past and we appreciate how their structure can funnel the donations out to several different organizations.”

Each ticket purchase comes with food vouchers and the menu will include shrimp & grits, chicken & waffles, fried mac bites, German pretzel bites and donut holes stuffed with Nutella. And if you’re still hungry once you run our of tickets, you can order more of these items off the menu with 100% of the proceeds of all food purchased that day going to the Junior League of Tallahassee.

There will also be a mimosa bar , raffle prizes and all VIP attendees will get a chance to play the WOB Top Golf Swing Suite during the event for free.

The restaurant is closing just for this event, which will be contained inside and in the front parking lot, while the remaining of the parking is limited to the space World of Beer has on either side of its restaurant.
