Brandi Carlile Nominated For Seven Grammy Awards

Brandi Carlile is nominated for seven awards at the 65th GRAMMY Awards: Album of the Year , Record of the Year , Best Americana Album , Best Americana Performance , Best American Roots Song , Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song . Already a six-time Grammy Award-winner, this years accolades brings her total number of Grammy nominations to 24.
Inspired by the mining of Carliles own history while writing last years #1 New York Times Best Selling memoir, Broken Horses , In These Silent Days was released last fall to overwhelming acclaim on Low Country Sound/Elektra Records. A newly released deluxe version of the album, entitled In The Canyon Haze, features reimagined Laurel Canyon-inspired versions of each song from the original album, plus a special rendition of David Bowies Space Oddity .
Limited-edition deluxe vinyl will be available exclusively at indie retail starting next Friday, November 25 in conjunction with Record Store Day and everywhere you buy music the following Friday, December 2. A special CD bundle featuring the new deluxe album and an accompanying 80-page paperback archive will also be available on November 25 . The book features never-before-seen photos and handwritten notes from the studio, photo shoots, video sets, television performances, life on the road and much more.

Grammy Nominees For Rock And Metal Are A Mixed Bag

With 2023s rock and metal Grammy nominees, it looks like the Recording Academy has missed yet another opportunity to spotlight both newer artists and critically acclaimed releases following Tuesdays announcement.
That being said, not all of this years nominees are disappointing.
The winners will be announced on February 5 during the ceremonys live show.
From Turnstile to Idles, there several noteworthy selections among this years pickings that are well deserving of praise. However, the vast majority of this years nominees showcase the Grammys habitual tendency of selecting boilerplate and legacy acts as the face of modern rock music.

Brandi Carlile And Molly Tuttle Among Top Grammy Nominees
It seems lately that it is Brandi Carliles world and were but grateful citizens on her gentle planet. The socially active singer songwriter and proud flag waver for Americana music received seven nominations for the 65th Grammy Awards on Tuesday, bringing her lifetime collection to 24. Meanwhile, bluegrass artist Molly Tuttles nomination in the industry-wide Best New Artist category was a coup for roots music. The category hadnt seen an Americana artist nominated since Yola in 2019.
Brandi Carliles haul of potential trophies includes: Album of the Year and Best Americana Album for 2021s In These Silent Days Record of the Year, Best Americana Performance, and Best American Roots Song for its track You And Me On The Rock featuring the duo Lucius and a pair of nods in the rock categories for the song Broken Horses. Carlile is also one of the most awarded artists in Americana itself in recent years, having won its Artist of the Year prize in 2019 and 2021.
Molly Tuttle also took a nomination for Best Bluegrass Album for her fresh yet traditional opus Crooked Tree in a category that spanned a wider range of generations. They include veterans Peter Rowan and the Del McCoury Band , mid-career standouts Yonder Mountain String Band and the Infamous Stringdusters .

One potential source of grumbling may be the lack of major nominations for Spanish pop singer-songwriter Rosala, whose MOTOMAMI album is the most positively-reviewed record of the year, according to reviews aggregator Metacritic. Rosalía received two nominations this year, including for best Latin rock or alternative album.

Brandi Carlile Earns Biggest Grammys Showing Yet With 7 Nominations
Stop me if youve heard this one before: Its going to be another big year for Brandi Carlile at the Grammys.
Nominations for the 65th Grammy Awards were unveiled Tuesday morning, and once again, the home-state folk-rock star leads the Washington field with her best showing yet. Carliles seven nominations are the most the Grammy darlings ever received in one year, topping the six she earned in her breakout 2019 haul.

Ive always thought of it as only broken horses run away
They know the value of freedom
Agree. Only broken horses know to be afraid/not to blindly trust

So this is complicated- my understanding is that when a horse is broke or broken, it means that it can be ridden .
When Brandi wrote her book and song, she refers to only being able to afford horses that were broken – meaning they were damaged somehow.
