How To Make Rum Punch Drink

Jamaican Rum Punch Recipe

The BEST Jamaican RUM PUNCH | Cocktail Recipe

Each island in the Caribbean seems to have their own version of a rum cocktail, from the mojitos in Cuba to the rum swizzle in Bermuda, but for our recent movie night I went with the Jamaican version as I had gone with some other Jamaican classics for the rest of our Pirates of the Caribbean-themed meal

Whats different about the Jamaican version of this rum punch recipe compared to the other islands versions is the inclusion of lime juice and the heavy use of grenadine syrup. Feel free to skip or lessen the grenadine if youre looking for something less sweet, or check out our mai tai cocktail which tastes similar and uses homemade almond syrup to sweeten which is a bit less saccharine and more well-rounded .

Some recipes skip the juices and just use a fruit punch syrup, but I personally find those versions too sweet and I like the pretty ombre effect of this version.

If you enjoy fruity or sweet drinks, this rum punch cocktail is right up your alley. Its like having a Caribbean sunset right in your glass!

Jamaican Rum Punch is sweet, citrusy and with a slight acidic edge from that addition of lime juice like a big glass of grown-up fruit punch. I prefer using dark rum in this recipe for both flavor and authenticity but full disclosure, my favorite dark rum is from Bermuda so I guess I didnt go that authentic.

This Jamaican rum punch recipe is so smooth and well formulated that it is easy to forget that this is a strong drink!

Garnish And Serve The Rum Punch

Serve the punch in a large bowl. Float orange slices, pomegranate seeds, star anise pods, and cinnamon sticks in the punch to create a beautiful presentation. Serve the rum punch bowl alongside glasses filled with ice, and garnish with a cinnamon stick, and an orange slice.

You can also leave small jars with cinnamon sticks, orange slices, and a bottle of grenadine beside the punch bowl, thus allowing guests to add more orange slices, or a splash of grenadine, as desired. Serve a bottle of sparkling water beside the bowl so guests can top their glasses with a bit of sparkling water, to taste. Leftover rum punch will keep in a sealed jar for 4 days.

Which Champagne Is Best For This Mimosa Recipe

The simple answer is the whatever is in your budget! I think it is best to stay on the drier side because this mimosa has so many sweet elements. I personally love using prosecco. You can find affordable brands at any grocery store.

In addition, feel free to play around with the juice flavors. Mango nectar would be lovely as would any blended orange juice. Just keep with the tropical theme and pineapple juice. Pina colada mix would also be delicious.

Other flavored rum varieties would work in place of the classic rum. Vodka can also be added to your mimosa.

Serve this pineapple rum punch mimosa cocktail in a pitcher or double it and serve it in a punch bowl! This mimosa recipe is worthy of any special occasion. It is fruity, fun and brings a big tropical taste to every sip!

Pineapple rum punch mimosa recipe is ready for any party! Everyone will love this sweet, fruity cocktail!

How to Make a Jamaican Rum Punch

In a large pitcher, mix the pineapple, orange and lime juices. Add the rum and set aside.

For each individual serving glass, pour in one tablespoon of grenadine syrup . Fill the glass with ice.

Prepare your garnishes beforehand by skewering citrus slices and cherries for a cute, tropical garnish and also to let guests know what flavors they will taste in their drink.

When ready to enjoy, pour the rum punch into each glass to allow for a sunset effect. The drink will be red and the bottom and gradually fade to orange at the top.

Garnish and serve.

For the best looking glass, fill the glass with ice and then layer in the grenadine, orange juice, rum and pineapple juice. Pour in the lime juice to finish.

Garnish as desired, and enjoy immediately.

How do I keep punch cold without using ice?

Ice waters down drinks and we dont want that. Freeze pineapple slices and/or cherries to use as the ice. Then it flavors the drink instead of watering it down .

What substitutes are there for rum?

You can skip the flavored rum, or use your favorite flavor, but be sure to include the coconut along with the spiced and white rum. The coconut gives great flavor and I use it in lots of other cocktails like a Cake By The Ocean or Hawaiian Martinis.

How do I make the drink less strong?

If you find the cocktail or punch too strong, you can water it down. Add more pineapple juice to a single cocktail, or add more juice and/or club soda or 7Up to punch.

How do I make this cocktail stronger?

My hats off to you please dont drive but feel free to add more alcohol!

How to I make a single Rum Punch Cocktail?

Its easy to make this in a smaller portion just add an ounce of each rum to a glass and top it off with pineapple juice and grenadine.

“I made a double batch, and it was a huge hit at my party. I used pretty good rums, which I’m sure helped: Vizcaya Cristal, 7 year Flor de Caña, and Blue Chair Bay coconut rum,” says Carina.

“So good! Made me feel like I was right back on the beach in Negril. I used regular white rum in place of the 151….but otherwise followed the recipe exactly. Perfect paired with jerk marinated chicken and Caribbean rice & beans. Will definitely be making again,” raves brooke138.

What Is Milk Punch

There are two kinds of “milk punch.” One is a frothy, dairy-based cocktail reminiscent of spiked eggnog. It is simple to make and simply requires mixing together rum, bourbon, vanilla extract, and milk. The other is the most common form, sometimes referred to as “Clarified Milk Punch” or “English Milk Punch,” where the result is a clear, auburn liquid. Milk clarification is the one Kanya is used to making. This idea dates back to the 1600s when the clarification process was used to make the spirit shelf stable indefinitely. There is even a published recipe from Ben Franklin dating back to 1763.

Rum Punch | Easy Rum Recipes | Booze On The Rocks

This list of ingredients is short, sweet, and to the point! Youre really going to love how simple this boozy summertime punch is.

  • CoconutRum The coconut rum will certainly add to the beachy taste, but if you want to avoid too much sweetness, opt for plain white rum instead.
  • Dark Rum Your drink will only be as good as the liquor you put into it, so be sure to use a quality bottle of dark rum. It can really make or break the entire punch!
  • Orange Juice To keep this drink perfectly smooth, use a pulp free orange juice.
  • Pineapple Juice Try to pick out 100% juice or the cocktail might be sweeter than you think,
  • Grenadine Grenadine helps develop the deep color of the punch, as well as the slight added sweetness that helps the alcohol blend better.
  • Lime Juice General rule of thumb here always use fresh lime juice, never the store-bought bottled stuff. The bottled version is usually packed with artificial preservatives and never tastes as fresh and delicious as the real deal.
  • Nutmeg Finally, my secret ingredient that truly elevates this punch from good to great! Once you experience the hint of nutmeg in your fruity punch, youll never have it any other way again.

Susan: It is such a thrill for me to have you here. I mean, you are one of the greats! So thank you so much for being here.

Jim: Thanks for having me on. Im so excited to be here.

Susan: I know that we are going to talk all about Banks Rum, but this couldnt be a Lush Life interview without asking how you got where you did. What Im really, really interested in is, the whys and the hows, why you went from each place to each place and what you learned from those places.

What made you make the leap to the different parts of your life and, where you feel that you were in a place to create something like Banks Rum? Does that make sense?

Jim: Yeah, it does. It reminds me of a similar question I had, when I was in Chicago, I was doing an interview for, it was like a Google Chat, and I was on stage. It felt very important it was Chats at Google. The host asked me, Well, what are you going to do next?

Which Im sure is the way that they speak when theyre talking to tech guys who are going to start their next platform or whatnot. Surprising answer to this question, perhaps maybe to that question Ill validate now, its an unglamorous answer, but when youre not independently wealthy, you dont decide what your next opportunity is.

So the short answer, without going through my whole life story, which is getting longer because I keep getting older, is that I took the meeting, I listened, and some of these things were very interesting to me, and I got involved.

Jim: Yeah.

Putting It All Together For The Perfect Rum Punch

How To Make Jamaican Rum Punch | Rum Punch

Perfecting your rum punch mix takes practice. Be prepared to experiment a little and endure a little bit of trial-and-error.

Keep this handy rhyme in mind when putting your rum punch together: One of sour, two of sweet, three of strong, four of weak. This saying basically means that punch should be made with one part juice, two parts sweetener, three parts rum, and four parts water.

Its not a perfect rule, but its close. Follow these guidelines loosely when making your punch. The most important part of this rule is to always include more water than rum. Ignoring this rule can lead to the creation of a dangerously intoxicating punch.

For the sour aspect of your punch, maybe throw in some lemon or lime. You want your punch to be sweet, but you also want it to have some tanginess to it. Including a wide variety of notes in your palate will result in a much more complex drink.

For the sweet factor in your punch, use multiple different fruit juices. Use whatever fruits you like, but try to use fruits that are very sweet in nature. Pineapple juice, orange juice, and grape juice are solid options.

We already discussed briefly how much rum to use, but we didnt discuss how these different rums will affect your mixture. Dark rum will typically muddy your drink up in color while spicing up its taste. However, light rum will usually lighten your drink in color while adding some smoothness to its taste.

Gather The Ingredients For This Rum Punch Recipe

The base of this recipe consists of freshly squeezed juices, so grab some oranges and limes. To add a touch of Caribbean flavors, we will add some good, store-bought pineapple juice, and a top-shelf grenadine syrup. You can also make homemade grenadine syrup. Then, you’ll need your choice of amber or dark rum, along with a light rum. You could also use all 3 types of rum, if you decrease the proportions to cup of each rum.

Finally, for spicing up and decorating the rum punch, you will need ground nutmeg, cloves, star anise pods, cinnamon sticks, and pomegranate seeds. Add a bottle of sparkling water to the punch to dilute, as desired.
