Review: Hard Truth Maple Bourbon Cream
Hard Truth Maple Bourbon Cream was released the fall of 2021. It is one of 20 spirits crafted by Hard Truth Distilling. It all began when Ed Ryan, Jeff McCabe, and Tim OBryan opened an 800 square foot brewpub in 2009. They have since expanded to restaurants, breweries, and an 18,000 square foot state of the art distillery surrounded by 325 acres of native forest. The distillery started in the upstairs of their pizza restaurant in 2015. Hard Truth is now the biggest craft distillery in the state of Indiana. Master Distiller Bryan Smith spent months focused on finding the perfect balance of Indiana Straight Bourbon, real maple syrup, and Wisconsin dairy cream before landing on this recipe. The nose leads with bourbon, oak, butter pecan ice cream, and maple syrup. The sweet brown sugar, dairy cream, and oak entry has a thick creamy feel. Bourbon arrives building to a maple syrup, and marshmallow peak. It fades with oak, and heavy cream and finishes with brown sugar, dairy cream, anise, and maple candied pecans.

What is maple bourbon? On the nose, the maple flavor is present, and the bourbon is bourbon forward. There are hints of honey and oak on the entry, but the flavors of cinnamon, maple, and smoky vanilla have taken over by the second sip. This wine has a sweet finish. What is the taste of maple bourbon? As you sip, notice that the mouthfeel is nearly creamy and viscous, with strong maple flavors offset by hints of smoke and oak. This fall, Hard Truth Distilling Co. released its Hard Truth Maple Bourbon Cream, a blend of fresh dairy cream, pure maple syrup, and Indiana Straight Bourbon Whiskey. This is the second cream liqueur from Hard Truth, joining Hard Truth Toasted Coconut Rum Cream, first introduced in 2020.

4 oz. Hard Truth Maple Bourbon Cream
2 bar spoons chocolate syrup
chocolate syrup drizzle
Drizzle inside of a coupe glass with chocolate syrup. Set aside. Add Hard Truth Maple Bourbon Cream and chocolate syrup to ice-filled bar shaker. Cover, and shake to chill. Strain into prepared coupe glass and serve.

Does Maple Bourbon Cream Need To Be Refrigerated
When not in use, it is best to store Maple Cream in the refrigerator.

It is not unusual for honey to crystallize, but it is not a sign of its deterioration. In a hot water bath, vigorously stirring constantly, you can easily transform honey into a liquid.
When they are refrigerated, cream liqueurs lose their shelf life much more quickly. The temperature of a cream liqueur can be set to 4 degrees Fahrenheit and it will last at least 6 months. This will ensure that the cream liqueurs flavors and textures remain intact. It is not necessary to refrigerate cream liqueurs such as Baileys Irish Cream, which are made without maple syrup. A cream liqueur can be stored at room temperature if stored at room temperature, but if stored at room temperature, it will last less than a day.
